Something Old, Something New

▼ When it is darkest, men see the stars...(13th hour)

The night sky once again turned red as the 13th hour hit the city. By now it was almost too easy to accept it. The moon (or what was of it up there) shone, affecting the monster population in subtle ways.

By now, even the strange events which had happened almost seemed a little too common. The pulls from a new building, or the odd creatures that showed up and increased the population for that hour gave rise to new oppertunities; both good and bad.

To keep the population safe, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside that night and let the city police and visitors do their job, despite the dividing population on this issue. For the most part, there wouldn't be much resistance.

Each night, the sky was always filled with at least one or two signs of something new, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible.

Who knew. Maybe tonight you'd get lucky.

▼ Ode of the Newcomer

You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said. What time you showed here seems to be as random as everything else; if you were lucky it was during the day, if not, well the 13th hour was rather dangerous. Fortunately, there was a high chance you'd be spotted quickly.

...hopefull anyway.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[(Make sure you read it!) This is a dual log, both 13th hour, or newcomer posts (we're testing it out to see this works well or not.)

This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour.

If you are a newcomer, write OPEN and what hour they arrived. It can be the 13th hour if you want too!

Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log, you can level up persona, but not in the same thread and the same day, IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments just for the sake of leveling up (Ie, we want effort in them, as much as you would with a normal log.).

If you submitted a building and it was accepted, feel free to start a post with them discovering it! The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).

FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.]

Angel Number Four thought it was dreaming. It happened, occasionally. It would drift into a daydream that felt extremely real, even if the subject matter within was rather nonsensical. So when Geis floated through the darkened streets of Hinoto-Ri, a soft, gentle glow surrounding its body, it took everything in a happy sort of stride.

It was an interesting dream. Normally it dreamt it could fly, drifting from cloud to cloud, but it seemed real life limitations were in full force here. Peculiar. Exciting, really! New things were always fun to try, and it wanted to see where this dream went!

Which was why Geis was busy lifting random objects in the streets - cars, postboxes, rubbish bins - just lifting them up, dropping them, tossing them down the deserted street. Needless to say, Geis was making a lot of noise, especially when it threw a car so hard that it smashed into the road, its alarm letting out pitiful, wailing noises.

Dare you...interrupt?

Ahem. "Excuse me!"

A firm voice calls out to Geis over all the madness, coming from a young girl with a disapproving expression and her hands on her hips. The Visitors were getting bad enough rep as it was, and to have one of them running around smashing things... well, that certainly wasn't okay by any stretch of the word. Kairi was hoping to get it to settle down with words alone, hoping being the keyword here, but she wasn't afraid to strong arm it a bit if she needed to-- thankfully, several of her friends were also patrolling around tonight, so even if it was especially rowdy the situation would be able to be controlled. Now then...

"Can you please stop that? I know you're new," she'd gotten the ping on her COMP after all, "but that's no excuse to go smashing things!"

Geis flinched at the angry tone, turning towards the - human girl? Oh, how rare, normally it didn't dream of humans. Uh, normally its dreams didn't have angry humans direct at itself...it wasn't sure how to react. Could you feel pain in dreams? Geis didn't know. But humans were its superiors, so it should listen.

Almost sheepishly, Geis let go of the trashcan it had been happily juggling earlier, wincing at the loud crash it made. The angel even dropped from the air onto the pavement, its 'ears' drooping slightly.

I wasn't smashing. I was playing.

The voice sounded a bit artificial, and fluctuated between childlike, feminine, and masculine with disorientating rapidity, whispering directly into the girl's mind.

It startles her to have it speaking directly into her mind, enough that her expression fluctuates and her eyes grow wide, but she quickly calms herself down as best as she can despite the almost grating sort of edge to it. She notes the tone and the sheepish attitude, and quickly changes to the sort of voice you'd use with a child that was misbehaving.

"That's not how you properly play. When you play like that, you're hurting others and the things that belong to them."

She gestures to the car that had still yet to have its alarm disabled (man a resident was gonna be maaaad), as well as the other objects it had tossed around.

"These things get messed up when you throw them around, and it's an inconvenience to people to have to go and fix them. Do you think there's something else you could find to play with...?"

Well, this is a dream, isn't it? No one will be harmed in those.

Geis's wings gave a slight flap, and it was floating off of the ground once more, its sheepishness melting away into something like curiosity, its wide eyes intent on the girl. This was really interesting. Geis wanted to see where this dream would take it next.

An imaginative construct...? I don't know. But consequences are null and void in them.

"This isn't a dream; this is real life, and the consequences are just as real. You need to be able to behave yourself."

She stares back at Geis, a little bit of her own curiosity seeping into her expression despite the exasperation. This certainly was a new experience, that's for sure.

...

You could almost hear crickets chirping. Then...

EHHHHHHHHH?! IT'S REAL?!

Geis suddenly fluttered about anxiously, looking about itself as it finally took in the damage it had wrought. Oh, oh no! It had thought- but- well, breaking things were fine, if it was allowed to, but when it wasn't...

Oh, Geis suddenly felt faint...

Noooooo....no, no...

"A-are you alright...?"

Ow, it seems that someone yelling directly into your mind was just as bad as someone yelling right next to you. Kairi raises one hand to press gently against her temple, wincing ever so slightly.

"Do you need me to explain what's going on?"

Yes! An explanation is needed!

Geis seemed to have been worked up into a right state, looking about itself nervously as if expecting someone to lunge out of the shadows and assault them. Well, half-right. Haruto was a man who didn't suffer Geis's mistakes, and although it knew Haruto had its best interests at heart, his punches still hurt! Although how, Geis hadn't puzzled out, but as they were both angels, perhaps...

But no! First! Explanation!!

"You were called here by a man named Philemon to help save this city. In exchange, he granted you a special power called 'Persona' to fight with. You should also have something called a COMP on you, it lets you access a special network with everyone else here that got taken."

Kairi taps behind her ear where the COMP is located.

"Since you just arrived, you need to go to the Government office so they can give you some things to make living here easier. Do you want me to take you there?"

Philemon? COMP? Persona? Taken? Huh?

Geis was practically bubbling with questions and demands, its wings giving violent twitches as it hovered in thought. So, it was...no longer in Sodom? Yes, this city was too quiet, and too different to be Sodom. But, Geis had the impression that Sodom was the only city left, so...

Would this girl be like Haruto then? Geis supposed it would have to be so. It felt a bit discomforted by its foreign surroundings, and bizarre situation, and having a kind person to assist it was... reassuring.

Um, yes. Please. But you should introduce yourself first. Even though humans are superior, Haruto says that I should not leave with strangers. I'm sorry.

"Oh! I'm sorry, how rude of me. My name is Kairi, and you are?"

She offers Geis a reassuring and kind smile, though she was still admittedly rather perplexed about the whole situation. Either way, Geis gave off a very childish aura in its speech and body language, so Kairi was going to help out however she could and attempt to soothe it; it had to be scared and confused now that its idea of this all being a 'dream' was broken. She was a little interested about that 'humans are superior' bit, especially considering she didn't believe anyone was any better than anyone else, but she wouldn't bring it up for now.

"Whoa!"

Pit almost got hit by a trash bin. Angel on angel violence! Not cool.

"What are you doing?!"

Oh, I'm sorry, dream-angel.

Geis's voice was artificial and bizarre sounding, fluctuating between feminine and masculine at a moment's notice. It was sounding quite cheerful though, launching up another trash can into the air, watching it soar into the apex of its arc... then plummet back down on top of a car. The poor vehicle let out a pitiful wailing noise, and Geis laughed childishly - even if it sounded extremely disturbing.

These vehicles make such weird noises! It's fun!

Telepathy, huh? Pit responds without missing a beat.

"'Dream-angel'? What's that supposed to mean?"

Exactly that. This is a dream. And you're an angel in it. Therefore, dream-angel.

Geis cupped its chin in thought, its wings fluttering as it scanned the surrounding area. It had already tried the various objects around here, and their entertainment was beginning to dull. So maybe...

Uh oh, Pitto. Geis is now eyeing you a bit worryingly...

Pit is surprisingly used to people throwing him in the air.

"It's not a dream."

It isn't?

Geis suddenly sounded a bit nervous, looking about itself as it observed the carnage. This wasn't a dream, so the damage it had caused meant... it had consequences...

Angry humans...

...

Geis suddenly clutched at its head and made a quiet, anxious whining noise. Oh noooo, no, no....

Pit holds his hands up cautiously. "H-hey, let's not panic here..."

P-Panic? I have done something Bad! That's, well, um, Bad! Humans will be angry at me...

Geis's voice turned into a low, incomprehensible whine, anxiously floating about in circles as it obviously tried to think what it could do to escape its anxiety.

"Only if they know it's you!"

Pit: advocating lawful behavior since the 1980's.

U-Uhn? I don't understand they'd know me i am very noticable and i anshdhaj

Geis's voice started to become jumbled up and near incomprehensible at this point, the poor angel beginning to lose its focus, so mired in its panic.

"Hey, hey! Calm down, all right?"

Pit cautiously approaches Geis, although...he's rather confused as to what he would touch as a comforting gesture.

"Nobody's gonna get mad at you! If any humans show up and yell at you, I'll tell them it was an accident."

So it took something alarmingly close to a pirouette and definitely a couple of dodge rolls, but Adamaï managed to avoid that last flying debris with style. He fixes his off-kilter hat in time to turn around and see... a car get mashed violently into the road a short distance away. He watches a couple bits of asphalt skitter over near his feet. Um.

Geis giggled a bit when the vehicle crumpled upon impact, pressing its hands together in delight. Well this was fun! It was a rare day when it got to smash things without consequences...

It scanned the area for anything else to lift up - and its gaze fell on some strange sort of - oh, what was that? Demon? No, didn't sense like one... wow, so curious!

Geis started to float over to it, its rampage of destruction put on hold as it went to check out the weird creature.
