Something Old, Something New

▼ When it is darkest, men see the stars...(13th hour)

The night sky once again turned red as the 13th hour hit the city. By now it was almost too easy to accept it. The moon (or what was of it up there) shone, affecting the monster population in subtle ways.

By now, even the strange events which had happened almost seemed a little too common. The pulls from a new building, or the odd creatures that showed up and increased the population for that hour gave rise to new oppertunities; both good and bad.

To keep the population safe, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside that night and let the city police and visitors do their job, despite the dividing population on this issue. For the most part, there wouldn't be much resistance.

Each night, the sky was always filled with at least one or two signs of something new, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible.

Who knew. Maybe tonight you'd get lucky.

▼ Ode of the Newcomer

You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said. What time you showed here seems to be as random as everything else; if you were lucky it was during the day, if not, well the 13th hour was rather dangerous. Fortunately, there was a high chance you'd be spotted quickly.

...hopefull anyway.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[(Make sure you read it!) This is a dual log, both 13th hour, or newcomer posts (we're testing it out to see this works well or not.)

This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour.

If you are a newcomer, write OPEN and what hour they arrived. It can be the 13th hour if you want too!

Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log, you can level up persona, but not in the same thread and the same day, IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments just for the sake of leveling up (Ie, we want effort in them, as much as you would with a normal log.).

If you submitted a building and it was accepted, feel free to start a post with them discovering it! The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).

FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.]

She stares back at Geis, a little bit of her own curiosity seeping into her expression despite the exasperation. This certainly was a new experience, that's for sure.

...

You could almost hear crickets chirping. Then...

EHHHHHHHHH?! IT'S REAL?!

Geis suddenly fluttered about anxiously, looking about itself as it finally took in the damage it had wrought. Oh, oh no! It had thought- but- well, breaking things were fine, if it was allowed to, but when it wasn't...

Oh, Geis suddenly felt faint...

Noooooo....no, no...

"A-are you alright...?"

Ow, it seems that someone yelling directly into your mind was just as bad as someone yelling right next to you. Kairi raises one hand to press gently against her temple, wincing ever so slightly.

"Do you need me to explain what's going on?"

Yes! An explanation is needed!

Geis seemed to have been worked up into a right state, looking about itself nervously as if expecting someone to lunge out of the shadows and assault them. Well, half-right. Haruto was a man who didn't suffer Geis's mistakes, and although it knew Haruto had its best interests at heart, his punches still hurt! Although how, Geis hadn't puzzled out, but as they were both angels, perhaps...

But no! First! Explanation!!

"You were called here by a man named Philemon to help save this city. In exchange, he granted you a special power called 'Persona' to fight with. You should also have something called a COMP on you, it lets you access a special network with everyone else here that got taken."

Kairi taps behind her ear where the COMP is located.

"Since you just arrived, you need to go to the Government office so they can give you some things to make living here easier. Do you want me to take you there?"

Philemon? COMP? Persona? Taken? Huh?

Geis was practically bubbling with questions and demands, its wings giving violent twitches as it hovered in thought. So, it was...no longer in Sodom? Yes, this city was too quiet, and too different to be Sodom. But, Geis had the impression that Sodom was the only city left, so...

Would this girl be like Haruto then? Geis supposed it would have to be so. It felt a bit discomforted by its foreign surroundings, and bizarre situation, and having a kind person to assist it was... reassuring.

Um, yes. Please. But you should introduce yourself first. Even though humans are superior, Haruto says that I should not leave with strangers. I'm sorry.

"Oh! I'm sorry, how rude of me. My name is Kairi, and you are?"

She offers Geis a reassuring and kind smile, though she was still admittedly rather perplexed about the whole situation. Either way, Geis gave off a very childish aura in its speech and body language, so Kairi was going to help out however she could and attempt to soothe it; it had to be scared and confused now that its idea of this all being a 'dream' was broken. She was a little interested about that 'humans are superior' bit, especially considering she didn't believe anyone was any better than anyone else, but she wouldn't bring it up for now.

I'm Angel Number Four: Geis. Now we're no longer strangers.

With that, Geis floated over to Kairi without any hesitation, stopping directly before her. There would be a soft sort of heat emitting from Geis's body, sort of like standing close to overheated piece of large machinery. It seemed to be gazing at Kairi expectantly, its head slightly cocked to the side.

She can't help but chuckle a little, all in good nature of course, at Geis' adorably childish nature. Destructive or not, it was rather cute... it's not it's fault if it thought this was all a dream to begin with, anyways.

"While we go head to see the Government, do you have any other questions you'd like to ask me about what's going on?"

Theeeeyyy should probably get going anyways, least the resident whose car Geis wrecked comes and finds it hahahaha....

Where am I? Does this place have a name? Is the majority of the population humans? Are there angels and demons here as well? What is Government? I don't know that word.

The questions seemed to tumble one after another, and Geis's wings fluttered in its obvious curious excitement. Yes, perhaps once the curiosity died down, Geis would be a bit nervous about being wrenched from its own world, but for now, questions! New strange things!!!

Kairi gestures for Geis to follow her as she begins down the street; luckily they weren't too incredibly far away from the Government building.

"This is a city called Hinoto-Ri. There's all sorts of people here, and not even just humans-- there's lots of demons, and I would bet you there's some angels around as well! Government is a word for the people that lead you, they're supposed to protect you and watch out for your best interests and make sure things run smoothly."

She's good with the whole questions thing, do ask away.

Protect, best interest, and maintain efficiency - ohhh! They are Scientists, then!

Geis steepled its fingers together as it floated beside Kairi, looking up at the sky as if seeking praise from it. It didn't get anything, obviously, but it continued to look quite cheery despite it.

Is there a schedule to follow? Eight hundred hours is normally 'start', unless multiple day experiments occur...

She's gonna not comment on the scientists bit, it still leaves a bitter taste in her mouth and makes her mind immediately go back to thinking about the Consortium.

"You're free to wake up whenever you want, unless you have work or school... what do you mean experiments?"

Work-or-School? I don't know that.

Geis lowered its hands, tilting its head at Kairi in open bemusement. Well, it meant experiments? Oh, Haruto said normal people did not have a schedule of experiments, but that was confusing and Not True. Experiments were very important! Haruto even did some.

I mean... experiments? Tests and experimentations to prepare for High Quality Stock. I'm Good Quality Stock, so I get the trials before they are refined for High Quality Stock. It's very important to do! Experiments also serve to gather information, so that, um, what is - yes, so that no secrets will remain, and humanity can gain the necessary resources to have efficient, beautiful, obedient servants!
