Summary: Minako drags Minato out of bed to explore! And hopefully they'll run into more people on the way...

Earlier...

Oh, how wonderful it was to finally have been allowed to go to their apartments and get some sleep! If he were awake, Minato would have barely remembered staggering through the door and collapsing on his bed. Or futon. Whatever it was. It didn't really matter to him presently, as he was sound asleep, still in his (singed and smokey) school uniform. At least he'd remembered to remove his shoes, though he did seem to have forgotten to lock his door.



Later...

With the sleepyhead up, washed, in clean clothes and out the door, it was time for the two of them to explore! Apartments were all well and good, but there was so much more to the city than mere residential districts. So of course that meant it was time to find the subway station, hop on a tube and go exploring!

Besides, knowing where things were was the first step in finding a good place to get a job, get food to eat, engage in various activities to raise one's social stats, etc...

Minako wasn't so pleased to discover that not only was Minato's apartment in an entirely different district than hers, but it wasn't very close either. This meant she had to figure out the early morning transportation system by herself. By the time she makes it to the Pisces apartments it's around 8:30 in the morning, which should be plenty of time for him to be up and around, right? She had told him they'd meet up today, if not exactly when.

Once she climbs the stairs and finds the correct door, she knocks.

He doesn't answer. He's pretty soundly asleep. Normally he is up by 8:30 am, but not today. No, today he is drooling a little bit on his pillow as he has a strange dream that involves cats and lumberjacks. He won't remember it when he wakes up.

There's no answer.

Maybe he left to have breakfast? She could try and call but she doesn't quite understand how to work the COMP yet. She knocks again, hits the doorbell, and then for good measure, tries the knob...

And then, at some point in your travels, you managed to come across the world's least enthusiastic tissue sample man.

"Free tissues. Get your tissues. And do come to the Seven Seas Cafe for all your seafood needs. Tell them a true pirate sent you." And then, as an afterthought, "Arrr."

Geez, you'd think it was a prison sentence.

What a difference the enthusiasm makes! Why, the pirate almost seems like a different man.

Still, Minato recognizes him and, after a glance at his sister, pauses. "... ahoy, Threepwood-san." (Ahoy is what pirates say, right?) He eyes the tissues and then looks at Guybrush again. "Tissues?"

He means why are you giving away tissues and what's so bad about them to give you such a gloomy countenance! He's just being brief. It counterbalances the three hour long story, you know?

Oh, it's the piratey man who didn't like round seafood again. Minako didn't get his name before, but it looks like Minato did.

"Hello again! You sound pretty tired today... Is something wrong?" Giving away tissues is a noble occupation, she doesn't see why you'd be upset about it!

The Saggitarius sector

Once they reach the industrial district, a huge figure watches them from the roof of a manufacturing facility, his grey armor giving him the aspect of a gargoyle, only the dull red glow of his helm's lenses suggesting he is something other than a figure of stone. He does not greet the two teenagers, simply observes them for now, an 8 foot tall figure that might be called foreboding, at least by some.

This area looked a little darker than the others they'd passed had, reminding her somewhat of the docks and back alleys of Port Island. She wouldn't be surprised if they ended up running into Shinjiro around here, though she doubted he'd be too happy to see them...

But before she can voice anything like that to Minato, she happens to look up and see the figure on the roof.

"...Is that a statue?"

Minato had been looking around more on the ground level, peering between buildings and so on. But at his sister's question, he looks up, following her gaze to the... gargoyle? But there's a glint of red... so who knows...

"Maybe...? It looks like it's guarding something."

Scorpio sector

There's one of the late arrivals who decided to stick with familiar things as he adjusted to the whole... enormity of everything. With his white coat, long blue muffler and his shocking blue hairs, he can be flitting around the Art District, talking with street performers, shop owners - anyone that'd give him the time of day.

He glances and spots the two, waving cheerfully in greeting.

Aww yeah blue hair buddies!

Anyway, well Minato has no reason not to return the wave from this friendly seeming guy, so he does. He wonders if they've met before and he just doesn't remember, but even if not there is nothing to lose by making friends.

Well, Minako is pretty sure she hasn't met him, because blue hair like that is distinctive. She also waves, but unlike her brother actually adds words to her greeting. "Good morning!"

Minato and Minako may have noticed a certain individual on the subway, a young girl with a strictly composed expression. Of course, there was the obvious problem of her bright orange horns and mid-tone grey skin, which attracted several pairs of eyes to her already. But if one looked carefully, they would see her exhibiting all of the classic signs of nervousness, her face remaining neutral only by power of will. The whole idea of a 'subway' was very new for Kanaya, and even in this small car, this was more people standing in closer proximity than she'd seen... ever.

As quietly as possible, she unfolded a map of the tubes from her pocket, allowing herself to look a bit confused once she opened it up.

The orange horns catch Minako's attention as they board the subway. It's a very distinctive feature, and she thinks she recalls seeing it previously amid the crowd of new arrivals, although she hadn't spoken to the owner then. Still, there could be any number of grey-skinned orange-horned young ladies in this city so it's not necessarily the same person...

But, she does look pretty confused, which is why she leaves her brother's side for the moment (he's dozing on a seat anyway, he won't mind) to make her way over to the girl.

"Are you lost? I can help read the map if you'd like."

Sure thing.

Kanaya looked up to find one of the other people on the car, a human, standing over her. For a moment her eyes flick to the blue-haired boy she was chatting with when they entered, but he seemed to have fallen asleep... and yes, she was pretty much lost in this confusing new environment. So she gave the girl what she hoped was a grateful smile and nodded, smoothing out the map so that they both could see.

"Yes; I admit that I am unaccustomed to the means by which this city seems to handle public transportation. If you wouldn't mind, I would be very grateful for your help."

Link is in the Scorpio district, looking around in surprise. He's confused at all of the people around, so he just stops and pulls out his ocarina, starting to play a song.

Well, Minato doesn't start dancing, but his attention is caught by that tune and the sound of the instrument it's played upon. And so he pauses, looking around for the source. It's not too far off, and he recognizes the guy playing as someone he met that first night. So with a nudge to his sister so it doesn't seem like he's just randomly wandering off, he moves a bit closer to properly listen.

Minako recognizes Link as well. She waits until the song has been going for a little while before waving.

"Hello again!"

Saggitarius

Depending on how thorough the both of them are exploring in the Saggitarius district, they might spot Shinjiro darting his way out of a trash-ridden alley way some distance ahead, apparently parting ways with a red-headed teenager who's as thin and lithe as a rail—like some sort of street-wise stray cat who lives on little—and looks like he's grown up living in the dust and debris of the industrial district. Shinjiro watches him go for a few seconds, face expressionless, before he continues on.

He doesn't seem to be going anywhere in particular, weaving his way past both robotic and human workers alike, before ducking into another alley way isolated between two large buildings that seems to be a few shades darker and dirtier than the last.

Re: Saggitarius

It's exactly how she had predicted. The burgundy coat stands out amid the dull greys and browns of the rest of the district. His walk is even more distinctive - hands shoved deep into pockets, purposeful without a purpose... much like the boy with a very different color palette walking beside her, actually. She grabs said boy's hand, yanking it from its safety net.

"That's Shinjiro-senpai, Minato - come on!" And she takes off running, hand in tow, before even looking to see if her brother is following. If they aren't quick, they'll lose him.

It's less shocking now than it might have been after first arriving here, but still, there's a bit of a startle when he catches sight of that familiar coat. Even if he already knows that Shinjiro-senpai is here, knowing that is different from actually seeing him. And with that seeing comes a bit of a pang, as his mind jumps to the last time he saw Shinjiro.

But there's no time to dwell, as Shinjiro is in sight and gone just as quickly, and Minako is grabbing him. Whether he would willingly follow her or not hardly matters with her dragging him. But it's just as well, as he does, in fact, want to see Shinjiro again, even if this Shinjiro has no idea who he is.

... he still keeps that other hand in his pocket, though. Can't be tamed.

Cancer -- watch out elizabeth and theodore found the arcade

Speaking of stat raising, two certain residents are 'serving up' some 'sick burns' on these games!!! Elizabeth's words, not Theodore's. He'd rather be at home reading The Man Parade (Vol. I) and moping lamenting his lack of Velvet Roomness. He'd been thinking about turning his temporary home into one coated in blue, but... Well, it just wouldn't be the same without his long-nosed guardian.

Elizabeth thinks they should make a replica of Igor, but Theodore disagrees!!

In any case, the crane game is something they are currently attempting to master, and Elizabeth is sporting three prizes while he has none. He wants a cute doll too.

"Luck is not on my side..." Maybe he needs to play Lucky Chance more. "However, it appears to be your day! If you wouldn't mind, perhaps you could..."

Get him one??? C'mon big sis.

what do you mean 'watch out' don't you mean 'best day ever nostalgia butts all around'

What, no, none of those prizes interest her. She got the last three Jack Frost Dolls, that's really all she needs.

"This is a game you must master on your own, Theo. I am quite sure you'll manage to get your desired prize this time."

To be honest, he'd probably get it if Elizabeth would stop 'accidentally' bumping his arm when he's trying to get the crane to grab it. It's fun, don't hate.

Libra District

Yu had decided to take a break, leaning against a lamp pole as he shuffled through some papers he was holding. He'd been out job hunting, gathering up employment forms to be filled out, and was heading back to his apartment to do just that. He hadn't noticed the twins just yet.

Finding a job sounds like a good course of action, although Minako is more concerned with harassing her brother scoping out the city a little first. Once she's working it would be harder to explore.
