Ahh Autumn. The time for harvest, and the normal national holiday that falls on the 24th and 25th. Demons? Angels? Magic? Well nothing's been put on pause, but even the Anoli need to relax once in a while...

With that free time, what's a newcomer like you to do?

Well Hinoto-Ri has much to offer! As they seem to be the only standing city in...well, anywhere, they've tried to merge and adapt as many festivals around the world as they can.

Ergo this Fall festival is a mixture of everything the world could offer. Corn on the cob, Pumpkins, Yaki Imo (Oven-Roasted Sweet Potatoes), Ramen stands, Falafel, caramelized apples...

A giant dragon is tied down in the middle of the waters. At night, you can see a few pixies hover close to it, keeping other monsters at bay. The streets have been decorated as well.

But most importantly, the upper Virgo Ward has been turned in a giant festival area...even more so than usual! Now the millions of stalls don't just try to sell things to you, they sell things to you thematically with this fall! Giant pumpkins and fresh produce made in Libra and Capricorn..did you know that Capicorn has an amazing giant apple orchid, protected by the office of Wands and Swords? Try out some free samples! One taste is enough to convince you that having Persona to irrigate the fields ass a crispness to the fruit..right? Winter outfits...hats are in this year! Listen to some of the new music groups, and get pumped for the upcoming movies!

There is giant mooncake in the middle of all the tents and stalls. Don't worry about the money! Everything's free today! It is a time for sharing and family and...

...being thankful for what you have. No matter how small it might be.

For a city of survivors, Hinoto-Ri is certainly trying to have a good time.

Yamato is a bit...overwhelmed by all of this. It was like stepping into an alien world with the amount of strange decorations and activity swirling around him. So don't be surprised to see Yamato wandering about aimlessly, looking a little lost...]

There's totally a plate of takoyaki sitting on some sort of cube-shaped table, utterly covered in a black tablecloth.

It is not suspicious or out of place at all, and it totally says FREE on a little card next to it.

You are totally safe to take it. No, really. It is a very good idea.

Yamato frowned at the mysterious plate of takoyaki - it looked a bit out of place in the festivities. All the other stalls had an autumn colour motif, whereas this one was simply black. He did edge a bit closer to it.

It was takoyaki. Takoyaki had never betrayed him before.

But on the other hand, suspicious table out of nowhere.

Yamato was indecisive.

He circled the table first, just to make sure it looked innocent all around, before picking up the little card to inspect it, even looking behind it. All it said was 'FREE'. Hm, who would give free food at this...thing? From what Yamato observed everyone was selling things - it was more profitable too.

But...free takoyaki...

The Utterly Innocent Table didn't so much as wriggle or move while being scrutinized, which was surprising given the Utterly Innocent Table didn't exactly like being stared at in such a way, even on a good day. But the Utterly Innocent Table was determined, and thus the Utterly Innocent Table did not budge.

Sadly, the Utterly Innocent Table had to keep its sides pushed in just such a way to remain a perfect box and not send the takoyaki down the slippery slopes of it's sides, which became a little more difficult when the card was picked up. The Utterly Innocent Table felt that, and it sort of...itched, or tickled, or something? And that was uncomfortable.

But the Utterly Innocent Table didn't dare feel the itchy spot, because the Utterly Innocent Table was pretty sure Yamato would blow the Utterly Innocent Table up if it knew it's secret identity.

But seriously Yamato pick up the takoyaki, the Utterly Innocent Table can't keep this up forever-

After a long pause of serious contemplation, Yamato finally picked up the takoyaki. Nothing exploded or anything unpleasant, so he relaxed a little, and inspected the food on the plate. Maybe it was poisoned, but...hm...

Oh well, he died once already.

Yamato tried one, paused, before nodding slightly. Right, he didn't taste anything off about it - perfect takoyaki as always - and he didn't immediately collapse on the ground in the throes of pain, so the food was probably safe.

With the takoyaki removed, the Utterly Innocent Table became more of an Utterly Innocent Box, as it finally let it's sides slip back in as normal for cube form. Sure, the blanket was dipping in to the infinite depths of it's sides now, but that was secondary to haha he actually tricked Yamato in to eating.

It was only then that the Utterly Innocent Box realized that tricking Yamato, who was suspicious of it by nature, was probably a really bad idea. But it was okay. The Utterly Innocent Box had a plan, in case it was found. Which...was growing more and more likely since the table cloth just kept slipping in to the infinite pit thanks to gravity, revealing the red and black ziggies of the Utterly Innocent Box's bottom.

Yamato was half way through his meal when he realised something off with the table, and paused with a ball of takoyaki half way to his mouth as he watched the poor tablecloth get dragged into the bottomless pit that was Alcor's centre.

There was a long pause.

Oh.

Alcor.

Just.

Gave him.

Takoyaki.

".........what are you doing, Alcor," Yamato asked, his voice entirely flat.

POLARIS DAMNIT-

"...Yamato Hotsuin?"

He's trying to sound surprised, but Saiduq has never been one to be good at changing his verbal tone. No okay, stick with the plan-

"I am...loaning myself out. It is only fair I work as hard as those here are."

...

That wasn't the plan. The plan was to teleport out. For some reason, however, he found himself unable to do so. Alcor tipped himself over on his side, "spitting" the blanket out and hovering up, as if to feel itself out, flexing it's sides very gently. Eventually, he just gave up in something akin to frustration.

"...why can I not teleport...?"

"Loaning yourself out," Yamato repeated, his tone still flat. He watched as Alcor tipped over, spitting out the captive tablecloth, and hovered up slightly, its sides shuddering and contracting in an unnatural way.

Yamato shoved the takoyaki ball into his mouth.

...

He was very conflicted at this moment.

"Possibly the same reason as to why you are trapped in that form," Yamato muttered irritably after swallowing his mouthful. Hrnn...Alcor was making him nervous, but he couldn't abandon the takoyaki - even if he had been tricked into eating it. He didn't think Alcor would poison him - as much as he distrusted the abomination, Alcor knew nothing of subtlety.

...first he'll finish off the takoyaki and then react.

"Don't humans work for money? Even if I am not human, I am no exception."

Alcor you are a horrible liar just talk about the sensible half of this conversation-

"I suppose. It has never happened, before." The star tipped himself this way and that, as if furthering his bodily experimentation in public, how lewd before snaking out his blue wire. Ahhh, much better.

"I have never been restricted in my abilities. It's..." Another pause, as he sifted through his limited emotional context. "It scares me. I would rather take my human form...people avoid me and are afraid of me as I currently am. It hurts."

Yamato levelled an incredulous stare at the star. Alcor can feel hurt? My, coloured him surprised. No, actually, that was unfair. He knew Alcor could feel pain - hence that whole ridiculous Anguished One phase he went through - but it rankled at Yamato for him to show such a...human emotion...

Why was he so human at times it was ridiculous...!!

"To be fair to them, you are a monster," Yamato said, quite matter-of-factedly.

Oh gee, thanks. The second Yamato muttered 'monster', Alcor's sides pushed out defensively, but he wrapped himself up in his wire just as quickly. More like puffing his cheeks out, than anything?

"I am not a monster, or a weirdo, Yamato Hotsuin. There was a time when even you did not believe such nonsense."

Harumph! Gradually, he de-puffed back to, er, "normal".

"While I do not agree with you, I have come to accept your current position as infallible, however. You will continue to see me as an enemy, even here." He actually managed to sigh somehow, before drawing a slight bit closer. "Even if such is so, I do not wish to fight you. You may have your feelings, but I will have mine."

And then a moment that seemed to take him a while. "...the Shining One believes in my feelings. Otherwise I would not, myself."

"You seem dizzy."

A blonde-haired, young man partaking in yakitori on a small plate stands behind Yamato. He's wearing a black shirt and long pants that seem under close examination anachronistic.

"Maybe you should sit down for a bit."

[drakenguard]

"Ah."

Yamato turned quickly to face the stranger, quickly blanking his expression into one of cool indifference. "I assure you, I am well. Who are you?"

[meaningdies]

[Well, prepared to be more overwhelmed, because there's a Naoya heading your way.]

[A Naoya who looks like he's barely able to keep walking in a semistraight line.]

Hey. Hey!

[drakenguard]

[Yamato spots Naoya, and is immediately puzzled by the man's staggering steps. He didn't seem very stable - was he unwell?]

...Naoya. Are you well?

Tch. I'm fine. Just a little tipsy.

[... He wavers a bit.]

... Maybe more than tipsy. I'll be fine.

Tipsy?

[At first Yamato didn't understand, but drawing closer to the unsteady man - seriously was he poisoned or something? - he caught the first whiffs of alcohol. He stopped and wrinkled his nose in distaste]

...you're drunk.

[He will get you drunk one day and it will be amazing.]
