Something Old, Something New

▼ Something Old, Something New (13th hour & arrival log)

▼ When it is darkest, men see the stars...(13th hour)

The night sky once again turned red as the 13th hour hit the city. By now it was almost too easy to accept it. The moon (or what was of it up there) shone, affecting the monster population in subtle ways.

By now, even the strange events which had happened almost seemed a little too common. The pulls from a new building, or the odd creatures that showed up and increased the population for that hour gave rise to new oppertunities; both good and bad.

To keep the population safe, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside that night and let the city police and visitors do their job, despite the dividing population on this issue. For the most part, there wouldn't be much resistance.

Each night, the sky was always filled with at least one or two signs of something new, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible.

Who knew. Maybe tonight you'd get lucky.

▼ Ode of the Newcomer

You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said. What time you showed here seems to be as random as everything else; if you were lucky it was during the day, if not, well the 13th hour was rather dangerous. Fortunately, there was a high chance you'd be spotted quickly.

...hopefull anyway.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[(Make sure you read it!) This is a dual log, both 13th hour, or newcomer posts (we're testing it out to see this works well or not.)

This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour.

If you are a newcomer, write OPEN and what hour they arrived. It can be the 13th hour if you want too!

Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log, you can level up persona, but not in the same thread and the same day, IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments just for the sake of leveling up (Ie, we want effort in them, as much as you would with a normal log.).

If you submitted a building and it was accepted, feel free to start a post with them discovering it! The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).

FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.]

"Kazuya?"

After looking wildly around for the source of the voice, she finally spotted him and bounded over. "You're here! You're actually here~"

"Well...yeah," Kazuya replied, a strange half-smile on his lips. The initial happiness at seeing Midori had abruptly plummeted into something very sour. Right, last time he saw her, she had...basically ditched him.

"...what's... the last thing you remember?"

"Huh? Let's see..." Midori thought about it. "After we ended the lockdown with Atsuro's plan, I was getting fresh groceries for the first time in ages. Actually, I'm still kind of hungry here. Is the food good? Please say yes!"

...Atsuro's plan, huh...

"...yeah. Yeah, the food's great here," Kazuya half-laughed, rubbing the back of his neck. How would Midori react...? To be honest, he didn't keep his Demon King status secret here. He bragged about it, even. 'Hahah, I'm the Demon King', tch, now it's biting him in the ass. Atsuro and Naoya didn't care, so he saw no point, but...

He should have seen this coming. Dumbass!

"Uh, have you gotten your room yet, though?"

"No, I haven't. Can you show me where it is?"

Merrily oblivious to Kazuya's inner turmoil, Midori was just happy to know she'd have a roof over her head and be able to eat day to day. The lockdown put a lot of things in perspective.

"Sure. We'll need to go down to City Hall- but, uh, I need to put these away first," Kazuya lifted up the bag he was carrying. He looked down the street, towards his apartment complex, worrying his bottom lip briefly before suddenly turning a smile at Midori.

"Follow me. I'll just stick this crap away and we'll go get you your room details!"

Midori smiled back and answered brightly, "Okay~ It's great to see you, Kazuya! I thought I'd be alone here. -Is anyone else from home around?"

"Uh, yeah, Atsuro and Naoya are, last I checked," Kazuya replied, motioning for Midori to follow him as he started to walk.

Midori followed, humming a little.

"That's good." Atsuro waaaay more than Naoya but both good. "Have you been stuck here long?"

"About several months, ahah," Kazuya half-laughed. "It's been...pretty crazy, though. Never a dull moment here..."

"Really? Like what?"

Midori sounds more excited than she should be...

"Oh, uh - oh! Going to alternative worlds, and apparently there was a weirdo here Charming people for Valentine's Day," Kazuya said, plucking the most recent events from his mind. "There was also that thing with the scorpions, too..."

Midori makes a face at that last one. "Scorpions are gross. But the others sound kind of fun... well, depending on who charmed you and where you went?"

"Yeah. I wasn't here for it, but, imagine getting Charmed by a pervy old man!" Kazuya half-laughed, waving his free hand about a bit. That was a genuine fear, after all...

"Gross!" Midori sticks out her tongue. "I definitely should have stuck with Anti-Mystic before I came here..."

She tried not to think about pervy old men watching her webcam shows for whom Anti-Mystic was no defense.

Judging by Kazuya's expression, he was well aware of this fallacy, barely stifling an amused grin. Man, he had missed Midori.

"It's pretty useful. Don't worry though, if a pervy old man Charms you, I'll bail you out."

"You're the best ever. Let him really have it!"

In this hypothetical situation of course.

"'Course, that's what dashing young heroes do! Ahaa..."

Ahaha yeah... hero. Kazuya internally winced - this was going to be messy when Midori found out but, how did one delicately segue into 'I'm a Demon King'? Not easily. Maybe he should wait after they get her settled in, a few days? A week? A month? Never?

Never sounded great.

The apartment complex finally loomed over them, and Kazuya turned to her. "Wait here for a bit. Just gonna pop in to put my stuff away, and we'll go to City Hall to get your room key, okay?"

Completely oblivious to Kazuya's internal struggle, Midori kept smiling. "Okay, I won't wander off."

She'd never grabbed a COMP and ran or anything... well, she knew the city in that case, at least? It was different.

Kazuya gave Midori a bit of a stern look - yeah he remembered the COMP grabbing and running - but entered the apartment complex without another word. He rushed as soon as Midori was out of sight, racing to the elevator (his teleporting abilities were too fritzy to use), impatiently waiting for it to get to his floor, and then running to his room to speedily shove his groceries in their respective cupboards and fridge.

And then race back down to meet Midori, only slightly flushed.

"Okay! So, city hall!"

"That was fast. To city hall!"

Yeah, probably a good idea not to teleport anywhere weird. You definitely couldn't do that last time she met you.

Kazuya just smiled, leading the way and quickly catching his breath. Two deep breaths and everything was normal again. Perfect.

"Uhh, okay, have you got any questions for me while we walk?"

"Do you have a Persona? Is it cool?" Midori asked, looking every bit as eager to see the coolest of Personas as she had been the cutest of demons at home.
