Something Old, Something New

▼ Something Old, Something New (13th hour & arrival log)

▼ When it is darkest, men see the stars...(13th hour)

The night sky once again turned red as the 13th hour hit the city. By now it was almost too easy to accept it. The moon (or what was of it up there) shone, affecting the monster population in subtle ways.

By now, even the strange events which had happened almost seemed a little too common. The pulls from a new building, or the odd creatures that showed up and increased the population for that hour gave rise to new oppertunities; both good and bad.

To keep the population safe, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside that night and let the city police and visitors do their job, despite the dividing population on this issue. For the most part, there wouldn't be much resistance.

Each night, the sky was always filled with at least one or two signs of something new, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible.

Who knew. Maybe tonight you'd get lucky.

▼ Ode of the Newcomer

You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said. What time you showed here seems to be as random as everything else; if you were lucky it was during the day, if not, well the 13th hour was rather dangerous. Fortunately, there was a high chance you'd be spotted quickly.

...hopefull anyway.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[(Make sure you read it!) This is a dual log, both 13th hour, or newcomer posts (we're testing it out to see this works well or not.)

This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour.

If you are a newcomer, write OPEN and what hour they arrived. It can be the 13th hour if you want too!

Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log, you can level up persona, but not in the same thread and the same day, IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments just for the sake of leveling up (Ie, we want effort in them, as much as you would with a normal log.).

If you submitted a building and it was accepted, feel free to start a post with them discovering it! The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).

FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.]

Wow, she's full of energy. He just stares, before scratching the back of his head.

"Um, so...how do you want to start?"

Desco points in a random direction.

"Let's go that way, laying waste to all that we see!"

Desco's plan has the benefit of simplicity, at least.

Well, that is a simple plan. He glances towards his Persona, who promptly throws away the Prinny it's captured to crawl up to his side, tentacles draping over his shoulders.

And then he shrugs. "Why not? Let's do it."

Desco beams, and then starts floating away, chattering happily as she goes.

"Desco is going to have so much fun!"

Several of her golden eyes swivel in their sockets to fix on you.

"It gets kind of boring when Desco is alone, since there's no Geo Panels here. Desco enjoyed the novelty for a little while, but it's kind of weird not having to think about the terrain!"

He follows after obediently- ugh, fun. When was the last time he ever had that? Definitely not recently, that's for sure.

"What in the world is a Geo Panel?" He asks, tone slightly confused. "Why does the terrain have to matter?"

Oh come on, senseless violence is always fun!

"Geo Panels are the energy of the earth! It flows through the ground, and when you step on them they have different effects!"

Her smile takes on a nostalgic tint at this.

"Desco's favorite were the Invincibility tiles!"

Perhaps.

But he nods- it kind of sounds like a video game, to be quite honest.

"Different effects? Sheesh, your world sounds rather bizarre, but...I'm guessing invincibility tiles made you invincible, huh? Kind of self-explanatory."

"Desco's favorite thing was their expression of dawning despair when they realized she was standing on an Invincibility tile and there was nothing they could do about it!"

A happy giggle.

A pause as he thinks about that.

"But, I mean, why not stand on an Invincibility tile themselves? I mean, if I saw one, I would just go all out for it, not wait until somebody else came along to snag it, if it's really that powerful>."

A careless sort of shrug.

"Well, they are only Innocents. Desco thinks that living in the Item World is bad for your brain, because they are pretty dumb!"

Seriously, the more you talk, Desco, the more Sam's brain hurts.

"Innocents? Item World? Seriously, slow down, I can't make heads or tails of what you're saying...I'm not from your world, remember?"

Desco's eyes briefly widen in surprise before she nods and starts explaining.

"Well, inside every item is a parallel world filled with treasure, pirates, and unruly demons! The demons are called Innocents, and the more of them you subdue, the stronger the item gets. Desco has heard tales of demons that become seduced by the Item World and waste away their lives delving through random things, intoxicated by the thrill of endless battle!"

"So...it's basically like a big treasure chest of a world, huh? No wonder people would get lost in there."

Oh, materiality, how humanity can never ever let go of you, he thinks.

"I'm guessing you've been there a few times before?"

She puffs up with pride at this question.

"Of course! Desco has even been a Reverse Pirate a time or two!"

She cackles a little as she thinks of something pleasant.

"Once, Desco even got to design a pirate ship for competing in the Pirate Duels!"

"Wow, that's nice. I guess. I mean, I've designed a pirate ship in my life, so I don't know what that's like."

He pauses, rubbing the back of his neck.

"And...you spent your time doing all that and not taking over the world like you said you would?"

Desco draws herself up, a serious look on her face as she responds.

"Work hard and play hard is Big Sis' creed, therefore it is also Desco's creed!"

Slight pause.

"Also designing a pirate ship takes maybe five minutes."

"That isn't a bad creed, but I don't know if you could manage to do both."

And don't mind him giving her a dubious look.

"What is it, a tiny dinky little paper pirate ship? Because that I could see taking five minutes to design."

Desco blinks at that.

"It's all modular! Like putting together a model kit! Desco made a pirate ship that was also a giant robot!"

A broad grin.

"She got the design from Miss Archangel!"

A pirate ship that can turn into a giant robot. Will wonders never cease?

But a slight tilt of the head at that second part. "Miss Archangel?"

Nod nod.

"Lady Archangel Flonne! She is super nice and used her giant robot Great Flonzor X to push the moon back into orbit and save humanity!"

Goodness, he is never going to wrap his mind around Desco's world, is he.

"Um, okay. Hee's what I don't get...if she's saving humanity, and you're all about taking over the world, why are you working with her?"

"Desco wouldn't be able to conquer the world if the Galactic Alliance had destroyed it with the moon!"

A slight pause.

"Also, when humans are in trouble they pray for help from Celestia, and that's how angels get the awe energy they need! So Desco conquering the world is also good for the angels!"
