▼ When it is darkest, men see the stars...(13th hour)

The night sky once again turned red as the 13th hour hit the city. By now it was almost too easy to accept it. The moon (or what was of it up there) shone, affecting the monster population in subtle ways.

By now, even the strange events which had happened almost seemed a little too common. The pulls from a new building, or the odd creatures that showed up and increased the population for that hour gave rise to new oppertunities; both good and bad.

To keep the population safe, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside that night and let the city police and visitors do their job, despite the dividing population on this issue. For the most part, there wouldn't be much resistance.

Each night, the sky was always filled with at least one or two signs of something new, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible.

Who knew. Maybe tonight you'd get lucky.

▼ Ode of the Newcomer

You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said. What time you showed here seems to be as random as everything else; if you were lucky it was during the day, if not, well the 13th hour was rather dangerous. Fortunately, there was a high chance you'd be spotted quickly.

...hopefull anyway.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[(Make sure you read it!) This is a dual log, both 13th hour, or newcomer posts (we're testing it out to see this works well or not.)

This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour.

If you are a newcomer, write OPEN and what hour they arrived. It can be the 13th hour if you want too!

Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log, you can level up persona, but not in the same thread and the same day, IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments just for the sake of leveling up (Ie, we want effort in them, as much as you would with a normal log.).

If you submitted a building and it was accepted, feel free to start a post with them discovering it! The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).

FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.]

[She walks along beside him, heading towards the store exit and keeping a watchful eye on all the people around them. So far, they didn't seem to notice that their 'Crown Prince' was making his escape.]

Hm? What do you mean? It's because of the book, obviously.

[Hadn't you been dealing with this longer than they had Yosuke?-- ah, new arrival alert on her COMP! She opens it up to look, and the ping seems to be coming from... right next to her. Oh. Oh.]

Oh Light, you just got here didn't you?

[Book? Wha...?]

Uh, yeah?

[Yosuke stopped abruptly, giving the girl next to him a frown. Right. Okay yeah, this place looked to be an exact replica of Inaba's Junes - but the staff were all different, and although Yosuke couldn't claim to know everyone in Inaba, there was absolutely no one he recognised who came to Inaba on a regular basis. So...

His first thought was that he was in some fucked up Magatsu-Junes, but, there was no fog lingering, no Shadows - just rabid fangirls and normal looking people - and being so close to the exit, he could see that the door was not the usual creepy red and black swirling vortex it usually was. Argh! This didn't make any sense!]

...where am I?

[And where the hell was Souji...? If he wasn't in the TV world, and Souji was left behind...dammit...]

First of all, uhm...

[She reaches to a nearby rack and pulls out a copy of Junes Invasion-- they were literally everywhere-- and hands it to him. If he was gonna be a main character and proclaimed sex god, he needed to know what he was in for.]

This is the book. Rumors have a way of coming true around here, a couple months ago this popped up because of it. You're, uhm... kind of the main characters love interest.

[Kairi rubs the back of her head a little sheepishly, offering a small sympathetic chuckle.]

Some of my friends ended up in it too, so I know how much it sucks. Fangirls are rabid in this city, geez... Uhm, as for where you are, this is a place called 'Hinoto-Ri'. Do you remember the dream you had before waking here...?

...

[Yeah okay, the fog lifted and the Shadows killed him and Souji. Calling it now]

Dream? Uhm...a butterfly guy, right...?

[It was kind of foggy, but... yeah, Yosuke remembered having some weird, messed up dream. Something about protecting and Persona, and a butterfly... probably his brain farting in his last moments.

He turned the book over in his hands, pulling a face at the cover and back. What the- was this supposed to be him?! How the hell did they even know him here?!

Man, his head hurt...]

Arrrrgh... what's going on? I don't have time for this...!

[Joking about being dead aside, if he was here, and Souji wasn't... he needed to get back to the TV world pronto! He was mad at him, but that didn't mean he wanted to have his partner ending up dead from berserk Shadows!]

Yes, his name is Philemon. He brought you here because you were chosen to protect this city from harm... we're not exactly sure what the harm is yet, but we're trying to figure it out.

[She frowns a little, tentatively placing a hand on his shoulder in what she hopes will be reassuring. Kairi wasn't exactly sure how this guy would react to physical contact, but it never hurt.]

I know it's kind of overwhelming, but try to stay calm for now. Whatever you were doing at home will be safe while you're here-- once you return, you'll go back the exact moment when you came from. No one will be hurt while you're gone, I promise.

[So she's told, anyways.]

Once I take you to the Government building, they'll give you everything you'll need to live here, as well as a communication device. Once you have that, you'll be able to contact your friends if they're here as well.

[Try to stay calm - Yosuke was calm!

Well okay, he wasn't, but... no, okay. No. Stop and think. Yosuke can do that. Time stops in his world, so, hopefully that means if Souji was left behind, he wasn't doomed to face the berserk Shadows on his own... hopefully.

He rubbed at his forehead, allowing the gentle touch to his shoulder as he let out a shaky breath. Right. Okay. Just, take it as it came, and think of a game plan. Get a feel for the situation, get a communication devi-

Wait.]

...what was that about a device thing? Was it that thing you had? That knew I was a newcomer?

[Contact his friends if they were here? Then, maybe if Souji was here... it didn't hurt to try, right? Hopefully his partner was here, but just somewhere else! He turned on the girl instantly, gesturing a bit, the book still clasped in his hand]

S-So! That's the communication device? I can use it to find other newcomers too, like me?

Yes, the COMP can tell when new people arrive. The alert only lasts for a short period once someone shows up though, and not everyone arrives at the same time. People have been trickling in over the past week or so, actually. You already have one of the communication devices on you--

[She taps behind her ear.]

But the other you'll need to get from the government. If it'd make you feel better, I can ask now to see if anyone on the Visitor's Network knows who you are?

[Yosuke touched behind his ear. Oh, huh, he did? He... didn't notice. Then again, he'd been busy trying not to get molested or mobbed by a group of screaming fangirls, so...

He looked down at the book in his hand before gingerly putting it away. Scary stuff. He had always wanted to be special and popular but now? Yeesh, no thanks! He'll go back to being normal high school student Yosuke Hanamura to get away from those animals!]

Huh? Uh... yeah! Yeah, that'd be great, um-

[...oh crap, he didn't ask for her name]

Uh, miss...?

Kairi, nice to meet you. You're Yosuke, right?

[She smiles at him before turning to open up the Network to do as she promised. Before she has a chance to ask about his friends, she seems to be drawn into another conversation. She begins to frown, sighing a little. Kairi turns to look at Yosuke, expression sheepish.]

Do you mind if we take a quick detour? Fans are starting to mob the store and a friend could use some help.

R-Right!

[He was seriously creeped out by how everyone knew him in this world... was it seriously like bizarro Inaba or something? Was there another him running around? Eh, he was a bit wary of that, since Shadows and all but...

Nevermind. He'd cross that bridge when he reached it. First priority was seeing if his partner was in this world with him, and not get mobbed by crazed girls!]

Oh, ten minutes here, and it's back into the fray huh?

[Time to just, use humour to calm down a bit more]

You know it.

[She winks at Yosuke playfully, hands on her hips as they head in the direction Adachi told her the mob was forming.]

Stay behind me and try not to draw attention to yourself, okay? I don't want them realizing who you are and turning their attention, you might not get out of here alive.

[She's obviously joking.]

Hahaha...

[Yosuke's laughter was a bit weak because, he, he could actually see himself being torn apart by those rabid people. His clothes? Yeah he only had a few tears and rips in them when he first came in here - now his left sleeve was almost torn completely off and several buttons were missing after getting pounced on in Junes]

Don't worry, I'll use my amazing powers of disguise to blend into the environment... or use you as a meatshield...

Don't worry, I'm an expert meat shield!

[She flashes him a thumbs up as they round the corner, a small mob of young girls (and older women? and sometimes men??) shifting around up ahead. Time to go save Adachi, Yosuke! :'D]

[Yosuke suppressed the urge to run when he saw the mob of fangirls (and fanboys) milling about around the corner, lifting his hand up to pull the hood further over his head. He felt like he walking into a den of hungry lions.]

Geeze, all this excitement over a dumb book? [a wry laugh] You'd think people would have better-

[Yosuke stopped abruptly, his gaze snagging on one lone figure standing before the mob. All the blood drained out of his face, and he stood stock still, feeling like someone sucker punched him right in the gut.

A...Adachi was standing right there. Right in front of him. Back to him. He was. Right. There.]

[Like it or not, Adachi was the easily snuck up on type. It just so happened that Kairi and Yosuke were coming to his left, so he caught a flash of red in the corner of his eye...]

Kairi? [Oh, thank goo-- Wait, was that Yosuke?

Oh, well no wonder they were raising such a fuss! Sheesh, how wasn't he used to avoiding the fangirls by now? But, oh well, it was too late for that.]

...Well, that makes a lot of sense! [This was pretty bad, though... If Yosuke mentioned a damn thing, he doubted Kairi would even go near him anymore. They hadn't even talked enough for her to defend him, either. Come on, she'd seen how pitiable he was when he unlocked his Persona, but was that enough? He just...had to ignore it for now... Fuck, though, if he mentioned this to the others-- Hold on, it didn't seem like Yukiko or Yu said a thing... Agh!] Uhh...hold on, I never even asked what you were gonna do...

[No time for talk! Kairi keeps walking forward and summons her keyblade to her hand, raising it in the air and firing off what appeared to be... mini fireworks? Either way, it was startling and colorful and got the whole mob to scream and freeze in place, but wasn't enough to set off any sort of alarms in the store. Face set firmly and tone fierce, Kairi addresses the crowd.]

No loitering on Junes property! All of you! Scram!

[For a petite young girl, she seemed quite intimidating; some of the fans had already begun to disperse nervously. She learned it from mom. :')]

[Yosuke felt like he was weirdly detached from reality at that moment. His gaze was fixed entirely on Adachi. After saving Nanako, Souji had told him that, that it had been him who tried to frame them, that it was him who was Saki-senpai's killer.

Looking at him, Adachi didn't seem like a murder or a cunning mastermind at all. Still, Souji hadn't been lying about him being a blackmailer, and Yosuke had no idea how to react.

He was a policeman here it seemed so, it wouldn't take much, would it? For him to say 'this kid's a serial killer', because a policeman's word is worth more than a kid's, right? That's what Souji said, and although Yosuke had been doubtful about it back in Inaba, here in Bizarro-Hinoto-Ri, who...who the hell knew...]

Adachi-san... you're here too...?

[Yosuke's voice may as well have come out of a robot, chatting as if there wasn't a spunky redhead chasing off a mob of fangirls right next to them. No, all attention was on Adachi]

Oh, wow... That was pretty good, Kairi!

[For a moment, Adachi didn't even notice Yosuke's attention was all on him. He was too busy watching Kairi. Oh, man, hopefully that didn't go back to bite them in the ass! If they whined to the authorities... Adachi had never been a big fan of overtime, damn it.]

You got them all to...

[What?]

Huh?

[Okay, something was weird. Something was really, really weird here. Was he holding back or something? It worked to Adachi's advantage, but it was still jarring.]

O-Oh, yeah... I've been here for...half a month, technically. I was part of that group that got sent to that weird tower in February, so I don't think that month counts.

[She shoos them all away down the aisle, keyblade still in her hand and expression stern.]

Keep walking or maybe I'll mention to the authorities a certain few break-in incidents as of recent!

[...Welp, that got them booking it pretty damn fast, and those who weren't intimidated by the threat were ushered away by others. It helped that quite a few of them were faces she recognized from the recent influx of girls stuck on top of their roof after the 13th hour, so not only did she know how to threaten them, they already had an association of her to her housemates and their abilities. Don't feel too worried about the possibility of this being reported Adachi, they likely wouldn't want to risk getting reported themselves.]

[Yosuke made an 'mngh' noise of fake-interest, and slipped his hands into the pocket of the borrowed hoodie. His hands were clenched so tight he could feel the nails biting right into his palms. He couldn't look at Adachi anymore. If he did he felt like he was going to do...something...

Adachi was a policeman. Yosuke was newcomer into this world with only the ripped up clothes on his back. If Adachi thought - if Adachi said... it was frustrating, to have Saki-senpai's killer right in front of him, but unable to do a damned thing because-

He needed to find Souji first. Him. First. Then. Adachi.]

[Yes glare at the floor try to burn a hole right into it don't punch Adachi in the face and get arrested don't. punch. him.]

[Okay... So either Yosuke somehow didn't know about the helltower (IMPOSSIBLE) or he didn't want him to come back. The latter was more likely, but, still... Something was fishy.

Things Yu had mentioned in the hospital, things he had seen that damn day in the maze... Just, come on now. Nobody had mentioned it to the police, so maybe they realized how stupid it was? Still, Yosuke's friends applied a bit differently... Adachi had to prove some stuff first.

Yeah, the wisest idea here is to focus a majority of his attention on Kairi. This was awkward as hell.]

That was some magic from your world, right? [Yeah, he turned his back to Yosuke.] If only you could teach it, because then maybe I wouldn't have so much overtime...

[She chuckles a little, rubbing the back of her head sheepishly with her free hand.]

Yeah, it's actually kind of a joke spell, heh. My friends and I learned it for fun from my Master, it's good to use for parties and flares and stuff since it doesn't actually do any damage. I really wish I could share spells with others, but like I said, it's not something you can teach between worlds... or between unrelated worlds, anyways.

[She lets her keyblade dissipate and walks back towards the two, clasping her hands in front of her.]

I think that should keep them back, at least for now. Are you okay, Yosuke?

Yeah.

[Yosuke appeared to be trying to shrink into the too small hoodie, staring at his shoes as he shifted his weight restlessly. He wanted to leave, as much as every inch of him howled to enact righteous retribution on Adachi. He couldn't do it, not without getting arrested and probably letting him slip through his fingers permanently. He didn't really want to end up in Bizarro-Inaba jail, anyway...]

I'm...just a bit tired, ahah...

[How in the hell had Adachi missed how ridiculous Yosuke looked until now. ~~Was it the underage jailbait dangling in front of his face, what?~~ Adachi had to bite the inside of his cheek. If he made it out of this without Yosuke blabbing, he had something to laugh his ass off about later, right?]

You guys should probably head out, actually. [His superiors were more than likely going to find out about this... He needed to find a new spot to loiter around at for a while.] Who knows when they'll come back?

But, before you go... I'm kinda surprised you don't know how to handle those fangirls by now, Hanamura-kun! It's been what, months now?

A-ah, he's new, actually... I was on my way to take him to the government before your message went up.

[Kairi hadn't gotten around to explaining to him the double situation just yet, h-heh. How do you tell someone 'hey by the way, even though you're you, there's another you here too'? She was gonna think on it while they headed to get him his Visitor stuff, try not to freak him out any worse than he already was...]
