▼ When it is darkest, men see the stars...(13th hour)

The night sky once again turned red as the 13th hour hit the city. By now it was almost too easy to accept it. The moon (or what was of it up there) shone, affecting the monster population in subtle ways.

By now, even the strange events which had happened almost seemed a little too common. The pulls from a new building, or the odd creatures that showed up and increased the population for that hour gave rise to new oppertunities; both good and bad.

To keep the population safe, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside that night and let the city police and visitors do their job, despite the dividing population on this issue. For the most part, there wouldn't be much resistance.

Each night, the sky was always filled with at least one or two signs of something new, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible.

Who knew. Maybe tonight you'd get lucky.

▼ Ode of the Newcomer

You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said. What time you showed here seems to be as random as everything else; if you were lucky it was during the day, if not, well the 13th hour was rather dangerous. Fortunately, there was a high chance you'd be spotted quickly.

...hopefull anyway.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

[(Make sure you read it!) This is a dual log, both 13th hour, or newcomer posts (we're testing it out to see this works well or not.)

This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour.

If you are a newcomer, write OPEN and what hour they arrived. It can be the 13th hour if you want too!

Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log, you can level up persona, but not in the same thread and the same day, IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments just for the sake of leveling up (Ie, we want effort in them, as much as you would with a normal log.).

If you submitted a building and it was accepted, feel free to start a post with them discovering it! The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).

FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.]

They're some high-end technology from this world - once you get situated and talk to the government guys to let them know you're a visitor, you should get a pair of your own.

Decade, too...? [ --? ] Hold on. Does that mean that the other W isn't here...?

[ BUT IT'S SHINY AND IT DID A THING eiji wants to.... poke it. He moves over to the right and a little behind him, going almost cross-eyed trying to get a look at the nano-machine thing behind his ear. ]

It's interesting! Really interesting, I can't wait to get one. Do the watches have something to do with the government here too? Why are they just giving these kinds of things out?

[For a moment, Shoutarou gives a solemn nod.]

Yeah, my partner's not here. [For now, anyway. ~~Yay wibbly wobbly thread timings!~~] Not gonna stop me from doing what needs to be d--

[And then he squirms away from the overly curious hobo because DAMN IT PERSONAL SPACE. ~~DID YOU LEARN NOTHING ABOUT GETTING TOO CLOSE TO PEOPLE IN AFRICA, EIJI?~~]

The watches go with them - it's like this world's version of a smartphone. As for why...well. I guess they're trying to make people more inclined to help out with the situation here. It's kind of odd, but it's a free way to get connected with other visitors and keep tabs on what's happening.

[ ~~YO MAN THAT'S DIRTY FUCKIN POKER~~ but Eiji goes ahead and relents. He's getting one of his own pretty soon anyway! He circles back around in front of W... dang right it's odd! No government he's ever encountered has ever been that open and accessible with their resources without a catch. There's always a catch! Growing up in the kind of family he did taught him that. ]

That's very nice of them. [ Free labor from offworld, something about a disaster they're supposed to be here to stop, and they all seem to have supernatural powers... and the government still sees fit to give free communications devices to every possible newcomer? Yeah, there's a catch here. Something about the power balance in the city just doesn't smell right. ]

What about jobs and places to stay? If there are more newcomers than just us, they must be running out of both... Unless we can leave the city. Can't we?

[Yeah, it's fishier than Mezul in a salmon farm. ~~Ignoring that none of Mezul's animal components are actually fish, shhhh.~~]

It is. Not sure I like it, but I suppose they're in a bind with people showing up out of nowhere. I'm not planning to get too attached to the stuff, but I'll make good use of it while I can.

As for jobs... That's a tricky thing. There's places all through the city, but it can be a crapshoot finding a place that's friendly to Visitors, as a lot of them aren't exactly happy with us. Government's handing out apartments like candy, though - same deal as these. [He taps the COMP and the wristwatch as he says this.]

City's closed in by some kind of barrier, from what people have been talking about. Haven't checked it out myself yet, though.

[ ~~... i never actually noticed that oh wow~~ Eiji absorbs this all very thoughtfully, folding his arms and looking a little more serious. Now he's starting to fit things together... ]

Do they know what caused the barrier? How long has this all been going on, anyway?

[Shou shrugs, then stuffs his hands in his pockets.]

If they do, I haven't found out anything about it yet, and several months at least, going by how long other Visitors have been here. Whole place is one big cluster of mysteries.

And we're supposed to be helping with all of this... [ Even though no one seems to be too forthcoming with answers. Eiji ends up smiling brightly after a moment, sticking his hands into his pockets. ] Well, I'm not a detective, so if none of the answers here are too obvious... All we can do is help, right? [ ... at least, that's what he's going to try to convince himself to do. In reality, the lack of answers is really ticking him off. What does he know, though? He's not the guy with any big solutions. ]

Well, they seem like they'd appreciate the help, but as far as I know, they're not forcing visitors to lend their assistance.

That said, helping out seems to be the quickest way to get at anything resembling an answer. Not the ideal method of doing it, but even if it's not our world, it's still one that needs help.

[ Eiji nods, making a fist and waving it in the air between them with a smile. ]

Then I'm glad we're here! If this place needs help, they've called the right people. Riders are always out to help, right? [ :> HELPING, YAY! ]

[Arm bump time? ARM BUMP TIME. AW YEAH.

Shou gives a sharp nod and a smirk.]

Right. Even if people here are more capable of taking care of themselves than we're used to, that doesn't mean we can take it easy.
