Something Old, Something New

▼ When it is darkest, men see the stars...(13th hour)

The night sky once again turned red as the 13th hour hit the city. By now it was almost too easy to accept it. The moon (or what was of it up there) shone, affecting the monster population in subtle ways.

By now, even the strange events which had happened almost seemed a little too common. The pulls from a new building, or the odd creatures that showed up and increased the population for that hour gave rise to new oppertunities; both good and bad.

To keep the population safe, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside that night and let the city police and visitors do their job, despite the dividing population on this issue. For the most part, there wouldn't be much resistance.

Each night, the sky was always filled with at least one or two signs of something new, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible.

Who knew. Maybe tonight you'd get lucky.

▼ Ode of the Newcomer

You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said. What time you showed here seems to be as random as everything else; if you were lucky it was during the day, if not, well the 13th hour was rather dangerous. Fortunately, there was a high chance you'd be spotted quickly.

...hopefull anyway.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

▼ Extra Long OOC Blurb

[(Make sure you read it!) This is a dual log, both 13th hour, or newcomer posts (we're testing it out to see this works well or not.)

This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour.

If you are a newcomer, write OPEN and what hour they arrived. It can be the 13th hour if you want too!

Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log, you can level up persona, but not in the same thread and the same day, IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments just for the sake of leveling up (Ie, we want effort in them, as much as you would with a normal log.).

If you submitted a building and it was accepted, feel free to start a post with them discovering it! The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).

FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.]

[ Unfortunately, Yuri had no idea that today was White Day. After all, being in the afterlife pretty much meant that you lost track of time for the most part.

But now she's just trying to dry out her hair by squeezing the water out of it before she hears a familiar male voice.

Just hearing it makes her spin on her heel, glancing at the blue haired idiot. ]

Hinata...?

[ Didn't expect to meet someone she knew so soon. Though it sucks that she didn't meet him earlier, because she's drenched. ]

[A faint laugh burst from his lips, carried on a heavy sigh of relief.]

Yurippe... [He feels the faintest hint of tears burning at the corners of his eyes, blinking them back and pulling a wide grin across his face. He'll just bury that swell of emotion like so many others. What would be the point of showing it? She was here, and all his worries and guilt no longer mattered.]

[A sharp burst of wind cut through the streets, the rain stinging his face with the force of it, pulling his thoughts back to reality.]

[Oh. She was dripping with rain, and probably freezing. Hinata was cold, and he was wearing a few layers of shirts and proper pants, so he could only imagine how uncomfortable she was.] Ah- Let's get out of the rain! I don't live far, and we should tell Noda and Otonashi that you're alright!

[In a quick motion, he shrugged his jacket off his shoulders. The rain dappled the shoulders of his white button-up in short order, showing the red t-shirt underneath. He moved closer to her, stepping under the overhang to gently drape his jacket over her comparatively smaller shoulders.] Here, this should help.

Dumbass.

[ But she'll accept the jacket without ~~beating him up~~ slapping in the face. Or something worse.

But the fact that he mentioned two other names, both of people whom she knew well, made her smile. Just for a second before she forcibly grabs Hinata's arm. ]

Well, what are we waiting for? We have no umbrellas, and it's not as if the rain's going to let up anytime soon!

[ ... Though if she gets sick, she's going to blame someone. ]

[It's official. Never will Otonashi be able to have a completely civil conversation with Noda. It began with a simple order from Hinata to clean up after the rain had hampered their game of sandlot baseball practice. Of course, even without the rain, Noda ruined most of that.

As the rain continued, Otonashi off-handedly remarked about it. Noda's ever-so-socially-adept response was to question Otonashi's manhood and call him a wuss again. Really, the redhead believed just ignoring Noda and walking away would be the best course of action. Isn't that what taking the high road is about?

Apparently not.

The redhead tears by both Yuri and Hinata, staggering at the sight of the pair but never once daring to stop. Behind him, the Persona of a wolf gains on him, his SSS jacket and shirt hanging from its teeth.]

W-what is this for?! I didn't do anything to you! [He turns down an alley and trips, skidding into the wall. WELL. It's as good a time as any to call on his Persona. Panacea might be a support Persona, but healing will at least keep him alive as long as Amarok is hunting him, right...?] I-I keep trying to think you'll be better someday, but you―...!

[Said wolf persona easily catches up to Otonashi as they end up in the alley. Amarok has a familiar grin on its face as Noda runs after the two as well, not exactly noticing a familiar face as he passed by Yuri and Hinata.

Funny how a human mind works; since Noda's still assumed that Yuri had passed on as she should have with the others, he didn't take notice that Yuri was now in this world as well.

Noda breaks into the familiar grin as he catches up to the alley, and stands next to Amarok.]

You know well enough by now not to turn your back to your opponent!!

[No he doesn't, Noda. No.]

Right! It's this way! [Hinata allows his arm to be taken, leading her down the sidewalk at a brisk pace. She's right that the rain shows no signs of letting up, and he's not really interested in getting sick either.]

[And then Otonashi goes running past them, half naked, with a giant wolf-man in tow with his shirts hanging in his teeth.]

[Hinata just... stops. He looks over his shoulder in the direction Otonashi went, only to see Noda chasing after him, cackling like a maniac.]

E-ehh... [He pulls Yuri's arm away from his own.] Wait here for a second?

[And he runs off into the rain, after the other two boys.] Oi, idiot! What do you think you're doing!?

[And he vanishes into the alley after them, presumably tackling Noda and trying to get him to stop trying to kill Otonashi.]

[ ... why is Hinata such an idiot? Isn't it obvious that once she noticed two idiots doing something completely ridiculous, she's going to give chase?

If only because Hinata probably can't handle two dumbasses by themselves, especially if it's the two idiots that she knows all too well.

She won't really care if it's raining now because damn it, she has to deal with something more important: people who were in the SSS. Sorry, Hinata, but she's not going going to listen to you. Maybe because of her priveleges as a leader.

And because if those two do something even more stupid in front of people, she won't be able to assemble a group of non-idiots..!! ]

... What are you idiots doing?

[ Said in the most deadpan tone that she can muster up. Someone is pretty angry, even though she just got here. Does she have to kick all of your asses into shape?! ]

I'm not an opponent, what is it with you?! We were talking about the weather! [He sounds absolutely exasperated and out of breath; Hinata's appearance changes nothing. Though Panacea stands between him and the Amarok/Noda idiot duo, Otonashi himself is cornered.

And despite all of this, he refuses to pull a gun on Noda. Yuri's voice cuts through the bickering, and he freezes. His already stiff-muscles go completely rigid.]

Yuri―! Ehh... [He had seen her earlier but here she is again, calling them out on their terminal case of ridiculous.] U-uuhhh... I'm trying to stay alive... and intact... But this jerk doesn't know when to stop...

[Noda was about to respond to Otonashi when he hears Yuri's voice. He freezes for a moment, his mind taking a little longer to process the familiar voice. When he finally realizes that the voice was actually Yuri's voice, he whirls around, Amarok disappearing as he did.]

"Yurippe!?"

[So surprised, that he completely forgets Otonashi's existence.]

[He can't honestly be surprised when he hears Yuri's footsteps following closely behind him. Hinata was just hoping he'd have enough time to straighten Noda out before Yuri saw. He wanted to be a good leader in her absence! But alas, Noda would only listen to her, and that was visibly causing problems.]

Didn't I tell you two to meet at my apartment? How does it always turn out like this... [Noda.]

[Hinata sighed heavily, smacking his palm against his forehead, falling back to stand behind Yuri's shoulder like a good beta.]

He won't listen to me... it's been like this for a month. [Oh right, he should probably tell her the most important thing first.] Yurippe... We're alive here. [Could you elaborate there, champ?]

I figured.

[ Well, it was an educated guess, considering the fact that she knew that this wasn't the Afterlife. And since she disappeared, she was obviously reincarnated. Or something. What's odd is that she's still wearing the SSS uniform.

However.. ]

And you two better knock it off or else I'll punish both of you.

[ See that mischevious grin and the fact that she's quickly whipping out her knife. Do you really want to get hurt, guys.. ]

Yuri, this isn't on purpo― [As soon as she brandishes a knife, he falls into silence.] ―Eh?!

Unbelievable... You can't just lay down punishment when I never asked for any of this..! [Face, meet palm. Otonashi ruffles his own hair, shivering in the persistent rainfall over his bared back and chest. Thanks for that, Amarok. It is true that the SSS is full of morons, but this is an impossible argument. Is an idiot of any kind at fault for his stupidity? Will punishment change nature? AUGH.

Now seems like a good time to just go home and do something calming, like have warm coffee.]

[Noda doesn't try to rebuttal like what Otonashi's doing, and folds his arms across his chest.]

Hmph.

[It wasn't his fault they were arguing in the first place, anyways! He turns to Yuri to change the subject instead.]

So when have you arrived in this place? We had been searching for you for a while now.

[Never mind what everyone else was doing, Yuri was threatening punishment with a knife? Couldn't she just slap them around!?]

Hold on, Yurippe! [Without thinking, he grabs her shoulder, pulling her back some.] We can die here! And... I don't think we come back. We can't heal anymore either...

You can't just go stabbing people anymore. [Far be it from him to give Yurippe orders... but he didn't exactly want to lose anyone else. Their numbers were few as it was. He didn't say anything about slapping or kicking though. That was fine.] We'd have to go spend a while in the hospital and get stitches and shots, and we wouldn't be able to defend ourselves! [Defend against... what, exactly?]

[He lets go of her shoulder, the rain had soaked through both of his shirts now and he just wanted to go inside.] In any case, let's get out of the rain before we all get sick.

[Otonashi especially, considering he's not... wearing any shirts. Good job, Noda. Hinata sighs through his nose, unbuttoning his white undershirt and offering it to Otonashi, leaving himself in a red t-shirt.] Here, you need it more than I do right now.

[ Thankfully, that put some sense into these idiots. She just shrugs and puts the knife away, relieved that they're not fighting (read: killing) each other anymore. Which is a good sign. ]

You should be glad I wasn't really planning on stabbing you morons. If I did use the knife, I'd just hit you with the other end.

[ And then she'll address Noda's question, hugging her shoulders as she attempts to bare with the rain for another few seconds. ]

I just got here. But anyway, if we don't get in the rain, we'll all get sick.

[ Getting sick is not a part of Yuri's agenda today, obviously. ]

You really are going to kill me. [It's about there that he mentally checks out. Nope. That's just about enough excitement for him today. Quietly, he steps off to the side to exist in the same space as his teammates without being right there in the thick of things.]

This isn't me trying to joke, either... [He does look up though. Really, Hinata? This shirt is soaked, sure, but the sentiment gets him. It's thoughtful, really, but he can't accept it without hesitation and a little fuss.] Eh-? Y-you can keep it.

[Noda completely ignores Hinata and Otonashi's conversation as he gives a nod to agree with Yuri.]

Then let us head to the temporary headquarters now.

[By temporary headquarters, he means Hinata's apartment. And with that, Noda starts walking towards the apartment building.]

[He nudges the shirt toward Otonashi again, not really giving him the option to refuse. Sure, it's soggy, but some covering is better than no covering.] I really don't mind, and Yurippe's right. If we can get sick here, then we should try to avoid it, yeah?

[Hinata hadn't gotten sick in years, he didn't really want to now. He casts a quick glance at his jacket hanging on Yuri's shoulders, a shiver running up his spine as his t-shirt soaks through. Thankfully, Noda speaks up, actually saying something... useful for once.]

Did you cure your stupid, Noda? [He's teasing, following after Noda out of the alley. He stops at the end, peering over his shoulder to make sure Yuri and Otonashi are following.] Don't worry, I don't live far!

You better not be living far. I already got soaked in this rain earlier. Getting even more wet doesn't sound like fun.

[ She sounds pretty annoyed, but the sooner they get indoors, the better. Besides, she hasn't heard the whole story from these idiots, and she wants to get the details so she can plan something up. ]

[Hinata insists, and it might be best not to waste more time by arguing over a kindness. Otonashi slips the white, damp shirt on and tugs it closed. The wet shirt sticks, but is a bit over-sized on him.]

Aah—all right... Thanks. [And—though he can't resist a passing glare at Noda—he looks to the (understandably) annoyed Yuri.]

I-it's not far..! But we don't exactly choose where we end up...

[He knows Hinata well enough for the teasing, so he just shrugs it off with a small scoff. With how the other two would be much more talkative, Noda stays quiet, as much as he'd like to show how happy he is to see Yuri again, they needed some cover from the rain as soon as possible.

~~Are they there yet~~]

[~~No.~~]

[~~Oh wait, yes.~~]

[As promised, it wouldn't take long for Hinata to navigate the streets, stopping in front of a large apartment building and letting them all inside. The interior of the building was warm and dry, so of course the four of them had to drag their soggy selves through the lobby and toward the elevators, leaving little puddles behind.]

[He clicked the button to call the elevator, waiting patiently as the numbers above the door slowly descended.] I have some extra shirts, if you want to change into something else when we get upstairs. [This was directed at no one in-particular, but was offered mostly to Yuri, as Otonashi lived next door and Noda was... Noda.]
