A Little Greenery...

▼ A Little Greenery... (Apartment Log)

Who: EVERYONE (Those without a room can still come visit, if you'd like.)
Where: APARTMENT COMPLEXES, PISCES AND LIBRA
Summary: Massive Open Apartment Log (March 23rd - 31st)
Warnings: Rooms and stuff? If you start anything that is 16+ and up, PLEASE WARN US.

Do you remember the construction that had been going on for a while inside the apartment complexes? It had been rather silent lately, but on the 23th in the morning, you would find that the walls on each level were now filled with green walls filled with plants that survived harsh light environments, along with many herbs.

How had the managed to get so many of them here in a quick time? Magic, of course. (...No, seriously!)

The instructions were simple; those with Intel personas were asked to use their skills, if they had any, to refresh and renew the plants as they were used by the others. Thus a fresh supplies of produce could be made for a much cheaper price. The hydrophobic pumps took care of the water system.

If anyone ventured into the higher levels, they would find that the empty apartments of the 20th levels were all occupied by bulbs of all colors and sizes, flowers and vegetables in preparation of the warmer spring months. There were many scientific names on them.

It looked like they'd been handed another prototype project to go with the teleporters. But hey, at least this one seemed delicious and wasn't going to send you right into the other building's pool.

...Hopefully?

[OOC - Open Apartment Log! Talk to your neighbors, make new CR, hit on someone, get hit on!

You can find the master list of apartments [RIGHT HERE!]

[Start your thread with your character's name and apartment number/ward. You can always add what they might be doing, or just leave it open for other people to come in. Others then reply to them with the date that they come in and let the CR begin. Fun times are had by all!]

Pisces 7-10
[Apparently enough time had passed for Jun to mostly get over his active anger that he'd unleashed on the network the first few days he had been here. Which isn't to say he was entirely content, but the result had been he'd fallen into a bit of a stagnant stage the last fe weeks, holing himself up in his room with his book and blueprints collection-- he didn't have anything new to work on, unfortunately, but he hadn't really taken the initiative on thinking of anything else besides research.

He'd made the mistake of not having his door locked at the moment, if someone wanted to catch him with his...rather sizable book and notes collection, but we doubt he'd be very happy about that. ]

Pisces, 20th Floor
[The only time it seemed to be possible to catch Jun leaving his room at the moment was his venture up to the higher floors of the Pisces building to look at the pseudo-greenhouse. He had to admit, that without any of the plants that he had at home, it was a bit more solemn staying in his own apartment all day.

So the greenery was a relief; anyone that happened to venture up to the top level would find him examining all of the plants and their labels; unfortunately Chronos wasn't exactly fit to help them out like builders wanted to, but that didn't mean the couldn't at least enjoy it.

and being the nerd he was, he certainly knew all of these scientific names by heart.]

"Makes you wonder what all this is for."

Men like Benjamin Linus can't sit around and do nothing for too long; thus curiosity had drawn him out of his apartment and up the floors of the Pisces apartment complex, looking at the still strange displays of greenery on the walls. He was pleased to see someone up on the 20th floor--someone he could talk to about the sudden greenery.
nemophila: (Surprise: And then there were aliens)

[personal profile] nemophila 2013-03-23 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
He shouldn't have been surprised to hear that someone else was around here-- but it did surprise him just a little bit.

"Hm..." He straightened up from his position looking at another label, and tapped his chin in thought. "Given the way everyone is sealed up in the city, I suppose it would be for resources-- fresh oxygen and produce among them."

[personal profile] imthegoodguy 2013-03-23 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Ben nods, idly touching one of the flowers near him.

"Good idea. Just wish they would have given us a heads up."
nemophila: (2)

[personal profile] nemophila 2013-03-24 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Maybe they alerted everyone before? I haven't been here that long, so I don't really know how things work..."

His train of thought trailed off a bit, as he continued walking and looking at the plants again. "I can't say I'm opposed to it thought; a place like this could use some more green."
imthegoodguy: (pic#5207250)

[personal profile] imthegoodguy 2013-03-24 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
"Any city could. Somehow, neither the park nor the mountain seem enough. Could be psychological, though, considering we are cut off from the rest of the world."

Ben shrugs, moving on to another pot of flowers. "But I wouldn't know if they warned anyone, either. I just got here over a week ago."
nemophila: (Default)

[personal profile] nemophila 2013-03-24 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
"The mountain is scenic, but it's certainly no backyard."

And he's also pretty sure that it turns into a death trap during the 13th Hour or, something.

"We're in the same boat, I suppose. I only got here at the beginning of the month." Maybe they'd said something about it and he just wasn't paying attention...? Oops.
imthegoodguy: (pic#5865669)

[personal profile] imthegoodguy 2013-03-24 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
"We don't even have a backyard. I'm used to living on an island, but this... I'm starting to feel a little claustrophobic."
nemophila: (Default)

[personal profile] nemophila 2013-03-24 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Unfortunately, this is standard fair for the city. I grew in an urban area not unlike this back home."

Still, living on an island sounds like it would've been cool. "Maybe you should consider somewhere with a bit more of a view."

[Looking around the apartment complex tends to be one thing a person does to get acclimatized to their new home, right?

At least, that's what Philip thought as he wandered through the halls of each floor, looking around the, for a lack of a better word, green walls, he found that one of the doors happened to be ajar.

So he decided to peek in.]

...Ah, you left your door unlocked.

[Obvious statement is obvious.]

[personal profile] nemophila 2013-03-23 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[There was a substantial pile of books taken out of his shelf and now sitting on the table-- which was where Jun was now seated when someone entered.

Aaaand he just kind of turned and fixed the guy with a Look.]
I see. [...] Did you want something?
howfascinating: (pic#5791252)

[personal profile] howfascinating 2013-03-23 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I do have a question.

[The teen said as he closed the book he is currently holding in his hands, deciding to inspect well, the piles of books around him.]

Where did you find all of these?
nemophila: (6)

[personal profile] nemophila 2013-03-24 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
They're mine. [He says simply, and without much thought; actually, he looks like he's perfectly content to go back to reading whatever he had open, even while still speaking.]

It's everything I had from home. I guess it came with me...
howfascinating: (pic#5822668)

[personal profile] howfascinating 2013-03-24 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
They seemed quite the baggage to be transported here just like that.

[Fascinating, considering how he only brought his clothes, Memories and this empty blank book with him. Of course, he does respect the other person's privacy, but well.

This room is the closest to a library he's seen so far (he didn't have the time to visit the local one yet).]

Mind if I take a look?
nemophila: (Default)

[personal profile] nemophila 2013-03-28 09:45 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose. [Honestly he had no idea how all this stuff ended up here, but he certainly wasn't looking a gifthorse in the mouth. Maybe Philemon was trying to be ~courteous~ for once?]

Uh... [He... felt kind of weird just letting someone come in and look at his books but he...didn't really know how to...deal....] I suppose so...
howfascinating: (pic#5822666)

[personal profile] howfascinating 2013-03-29 08:38 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you, then.

[With that, he's going to take one random book, flipping through the pages with ease as he pored over their contents.]

...Well, this is definitely interesting.

[It happened to be a book about plants.]
nemophila: (11)

[personal profile] nemophila 2013-04-08 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
[He just sort of...watched... the guy as he was flipping through the book, making sure he didn't accidentally rip the pages or make to run off with it or something.]

Hm... it's a book about plant species; sort of more like a biology book for plants than anything else.. I have a few others on the subject if you're interested...

[Jun's not the only one on the 20th floor.

Miyako was also checking out the plants in the pseudo-greenhouse, mentally categorising away what's there and which one she recognised. While she doesn't have an expert's knowledge, Miyako would recognise some vegetables.

She did pause to look at some lilies of the valley with a tilt of her head.
]
nemophila: (2)

[personal profile] nemophila 2013-03-28 08:41 am (UTC)(link)
Careful--

[He noticed her looking at the lily of the valley, and well-- kind of couldn't really resist speaking up.] It's a herald of happiness, but it's also highly poisonous.
capitalbackup: (To live is to...)

[personal profile] capitalbackup 2013-03-28 10:04 am (UTC)(link)
[She looks over at him when she heard his voice.]

Is that so? [Miyako glance back at the flowers before keeping her distance from them.] A poisonous flower with such a meaning?
nemophila: (2)

[personal profile] nemophila 2013-03-28 10:08 am (UTC)(link)
[He nodded, as a smile played on his lips-- apparently it was enough to amuse him.]

It symbolizes humility, or a return of happiness... but ingesting any part of the plant, including the flower, can make you throw up and jeopardize your heart.
capitalbackup: (Smile)

[personal profile] capitalbackup 2013-03-29 10:32 am (UTC)(link)
[She seems both amused and mildly interested.]

You'd be a fool to ingest it, unless it's on purpose or by accident.
nemophila: (Flower: Musk Cluster Roses)

[personal profile] nemophila 2013-04-07 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Some people can go lifetimes not even knowing how to identify poison oak; so I'm sure accidents like that aren't uncommon in some places...

[Well that was slightly morbid--] Besides, if it were on purpose, it's not exactly the most efficient way.
capitalbackup: (Glance)

[personal profile] capitalbackup 2013-04-13 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
[But morbid subjects are interesting.] I agree. There are far more efficient methods of poisoning someone. It's in the nature of the poison and how you inflict it.
nemophila: (Default)

[personal profile] nemophila 2013-04-14 07:37 am (UTC)(link)
You'd almost believe that a poison dart would be more effective-- not as subtle, but it certainly has less of a chance of missing in capable hands.

[dude seriously you're just trying to be weird now]
