Something Old, Something New

▼ Something Old, Something New (13th hour & arrival log)

▼ When it is darkest, men see the stars...(13th hour)

The night sky once again turned red as the 13th hour hit the city. By now it was almost too easy to accept it. The moon (or what was of it up there) shone, affecting the monster population in subtle ways.

By now, even the strange events which had happened almost seemed a little too common. The pulls from a new building, or the odd creatures that showed up and increased the population for that hour gave rise to new oppertunities; both good and bad.

To keep the population safe, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside that night and let the city police and visitors do their job, despite the dividing population on this issue. For the most part, there wouldn't be much resistance.

Each night, the sky was always filled with at least one or two signs of something new, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible.

Who knew. Maybe tonight you'd get lucky.

▼ Ode of the Newcomer

You're not in your homeworld anymore. That much is evident. So how do you feel? Happy? Sad? Troubled? A little of all three? No matter what, the memories of a butterfly man named Philemon are fading like a dream; you'll remember the details, but perhaps not everything he has said. What time you showed here seems to be as random as everything else; if you were lucky it was during the day, if not, well the 13th hour was rather dangerous. Fortunately, there was a high chance you'd be spotted quickly.

...hopefull anyway.

There is one word that stays with you, however.

Persona.

So...here to save the city, huh? First you'll need to find out more information. And who knows, maybe a familiar face or two...

▼ Extra Long OOC Blurb

[(Make sure you read it!) This is a dual log, both 13th hour, or newcomer posts (we're testing it out to see this works well or not.)

This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour.

If you are a newcomer, write OPEN and what hour they arrived. It can be the 13th hour if you want too!

Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log, you can level up persona, but not in the same thread and the same day, IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments just for the sake of leveling up (Ie, we want effort in them, as much as you would with a normal log.).

If you submitted a building and it was accepted, feel free to start a post with them discovering it! The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).

FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.]

[There could have been a million ways for him to have done this. Deep down, he would have wanted to make an effort in the first words she heard from him, after he hadn't seen her for six months, thinking that he wouldn't for many years...Romantically he owed himself to make them count so they have an impact. Especially when he had told her to wait for him. Especially when he had never returned for her.

Of course, this was all in theory. For all his grandiose speech and attitude, the Michel name, Gas Chamber, the way he interacted with the world, Eikichi was at his very core, an uncertain teenager. He may have gained a lot more courage during the last battle...but had seen a lot of things lately, including Miyabi's grave next to his own. That had an emotional impact which affected his mannerisms and despite wanting not to, ended up tearing up a little when she said his name. It was a confirmation at that point that she was real. He puts a hand on her shoulder, just to feel the warm of her, not quite wanting to move closer just yet, afraid that she'd explode into a mist, lost to him forever again.

Now then. Those words.]

Y-yeah...that's me...and you're here...

[And as they slipped out before he could stop them, as he mentally berate himself for being...well, himself.]

[Looking at him, his body language, his words, it occurs to Miyabi that there's something going on here. It's not something she's able to perceive in its utmost entirety; all she knows is that looking at him, she felt as though he really needed her support right now, even if in her mind it had only been hours since they had gone their separate ways. Questions about where they were and what was going on could wait for as long as it needed to, because for now she is leaning forward and wrapping her arms around Eikichi, tucking her head against his shoulder and giving him a soft and encouraging squeeze.]

Mhm, I'm here.

[The last time, it had been him who had initiated the hug between them. Somehow he hadn't expected her to do it back to him, or at least, not now. Any questions or worries he had that day were thrown out the window, and ignoring the stares from the normal population, he hugs her tighter, the smile on his face growing each passing second until he can feels his cheeks hurt.]

I missed you.

[I'm glad you're here. There's so much to talk about. Why can't I actually say something right now, I'm supposed to be Michel 2.0, dammit!]

[Bah, who cares what the other people think, they will have this emotional hug and they will have it now. At least they weren't hogging an entire row of seats in the middle of the morning commute or something.]

I missed you too.

[Miyabi presses her head against his chest and lets her eyes fall closed, trying to enjoy the moment while it lasted. She could certainly get used to this...]

[Eikichi does the same, resting his head on hers, hoping to prolong the moment for as long as he can. Now he knew he was being incredibly greedy, but right that moment, he could have forgone that wish, if it meant being with Miyabi just a little longer.

It was only when they arrived at the next station did he actually speak up again.]

...we might have to get off, we're going the wrong way.

[Maybe. You know. It's quite possible.]

...I don't even know where we're going.

[She laughs a little, a quiet chime of a voice, and gives him a final squeeze before pulling back a little. Now that she actually bothered to look, this train was weirdly high tech... Ah well. She assumed Eikichi would explain everything in due time.]

Well, we should head to city hall first of all.

[He stood up, extending his hand to her like a true gentleman should be doing.]

Hmmm...I suppose I should be giving you a grand tour [He winks at her with a grin.], but let's just get your papers first! It might sound strange, but they expect us to show up. [With his usual dramatic flourish, he moves his right hand with a swoosh, presenting to her the outside world.]

Welcome to the city of Hinoto-Ri! It's a bit straight out of an anime on some parts, [as he continues, his hand is clenched into a fist. Someone's getting a little too much into this...], but it is out duty to protect it, HOOooooooo!

[The nearby commuters just go on and ignore him.]

[She takes his hand and stands up, free hand smoothing out her skirt a little after her unexpected nap. Miyabi looks up at him to beam a smile as his enthusiasm grows, utterly indifferent to the scene they were presumably making; she was used to being stared at because of her weight (not that that was an issue anymore), and this was all just part of Eikichi's charm, really. Miyabi giggles softly behind her hand at the final flourish, carefully moving to entwine their fingers considering she was still holding onto him anyways.]

Lead the way?

[Tightening the intertwined fingers, he nods.]

Alright babe! Let's go to city hall!

[Eikichi was....admittedly grumpy that Miyabi wasn't in the same building as he was. No...grumpy was too of a gentle word ~~more like FUCKING PIS-~~. But it wasn't like the government would haven't known either, and hey, at least there was the teleporter.

During this time, he had taken it upon himself to catch her up on some of the situation; but felt that the biggest details would probably be best discussed somewhere away from the prying eyes of the public.

[But that frown was turned upside down when they arrived at her apartment door.]

And there's your place! Now it's rather...tight, but it's got all the commodities of Sumaru's finest and the price is right!

I still can't believe they're giving me a whole apartment...

[She unlocks the door and peeks inside, eyebrows quirking upward in surprise as she notices that things of hers from home were already piled into the apartment. That's... well, they were supposed to be guests after all. Hopefully her cooking utensils were here as well...]

Everything is so high tech compared to home, goodness.

Heh heh, I know, right? It's amazing to see how much technology evolved! Although...considering the city...

[Wow, sudden downer! Let's change the subject. He'll let her get in first and follow, removing his shoes.]

[She slips off her own shoes and wanders inside, eyes coming to rest on the table and chairs.]

Let's sit down first, shall we?

[Miyabi pulls out one of the chairs for herself and settles down, ankles crossed and hands in her lap. This talk was probably going to end up long and complicated, and she'd rather not be standing for that.]

Good idea!

[It was a smart decision and he quickly follows suite, sitting on the chair next to her, taking her hand again to intertwine their fingers together again. That should keep the both of them relatively calm.]

Now, I think we're both ready, babe! Ask away!

Let's see, uhm... I know you said Philemon brought us here to protect this city, but why exactly? And against whom are we fighting?

[That's a good place to start, she thought.]

[An excellent question yes. Unfortunately, not something that any of them know about. Eikichi frowns, his lower lip sticking out as he gets visibly annoyed.]

Not a damn clue. We think it might be partly to stop the terrorist group, the Anoli but even then something's fish 'bout all of this...there's demons running out night and day, and so much of the townspeople have persona...why'd they need us that badly? I'm guessing it has to do with both Philemon and Nyarlathotep.

[He sighs.]

Still...this whole place feels like home. I want to make sure people here are safe.

[Eikichi's still himself, despite everything. Can't run away from the Boss-like attitude.]

[She nods a little; if there was one thing she definitely agreed on, it was that this place felt like home. Miyabi would be happy to help protect it, so long as...]

Being here doesn't mess things up back home, right?

[She pauses for a moment before tacking on an additional question.]

Do you think you could tell me a little more about Philemon and Nyarlathotep and their roles?

[His free hand tightens into a fist, his voice farther away than natrual, with a low growl.]

They're both bastards. This is just a game to them.

[...Well that was easy enough!]

Oh dear...

[She gives their connected hands a reassuring squeeze, expression thoughtful yet serious.]

Then the city is their game board...?

[It helps put his mind at ease. The anger melts away, and he sighs instead.]

I wish I knew. But whatever game they're playing...I don't want for this world to end up like the one we tried to protect.

'Tried'?

[Uh-oh, Miyabi didn't like the sound of that; did he know something that she didn't after Scorpio Temple?]

[He stares off at the distance, unable to look at her in the eye.]

We....we fought Nyarlathotep but...[his elbows shake a bit. Even now, he has the images playing in his mind, clear as day. Is that their curse?] ...but even after we won he...pierced Big sis and...

[This is hard. This is really hard to say. Every part of him just wants to shut off and crawl in a ball and not say anything, but Miyabi needs to hear this.]

That cause the prophesy to happen and the world apart from the city blew up...babe I....

...I said I'd come back for you, but we failed...

[Wow that. Was a whole lot to process, though she didn't remember anything of the sort happening. Either way, she's going to lean forward and pull Eikichi into another much needed hug, running her hand up and down his back with a soft and comforting murmur.]

It's alright, sssshh. No matter what happened, I know that you tried your best to the end and gave it everything you had. We're both here now and perfectly safe, and you said that Tatsuya, Jun, and Maya are here as well, right? Everyone will be okay.
