When it is darkest, men see the stars...

The snow was falling softly in the night sky when the heavens turned red again. The nearly black sphere of the upcoming new moon meant the monster population wasn't overly aggressive and the creatures wouldn't offer much challenge....

...or that's what was supposed to happen.

That night, there was a strange pull. The demons had acted odd that day, but even when asked, they were unsure why. To keep the population safe, the mayor had asked the city to stay inside that night and let the city police and visitors do their job.

It was a good thing he had. As the first minute of the 13th hour continued, something happened...the signature tail in the sky of something appearing, much like when the Guests had shown up. Only this time it was hundred of such little signals. The sky was filled with them, and people were ushered inside buildings as much as possible. Something was wrong.

Something was very wrong.

New creatures began to move around the city. For some, it would be creatures they might have wanted to forget. Yet for others, this would soon be forgotten when not flesh but stone, rock and metal, rose from the very ground, pieces of their homeworld reborn in Hinoto-Ri...

Extra Long OOC Blurb

Alright 13th hour post!

This will be up to you on what you want to do; start a new post where you can character's name and OPEN and write the days they'll be wandering during the 13th hour. Join other people's post, do some exploration, post them fighting monsters and just have some fun leveling up / interacting! For this log only You can level a persona twice meaning if they are used in a post with one group and in a post with another group, you can level up your persona twice. The conditions is that the fighting must happen on two different days. You can do this with only one persona, however.

For the buildings, each one gets its own thread. The original owners who submitted will be the first to see them, due to a strange pull that made they feel like they NEEDED to go to that area. What they do with this information is up to them; they can contact others in their group, start exploring by themselves or allow the thread to be open for others to come in with them...it's all up to you. That next morning, the government will be coming over to analyze them (that will be done offscreen, however).

FOR THE CREATURES 1) The creatures have to be in the Beastary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! No boss characters that night, since it isn't a full moon. Also make sure your characters could logically take onthe creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant tree when they couldn't normally.]

NANO SHINONOME | OPEN FOR WEEKEND NIGHTS

[Nano's busy with school and her job on the weekdays, so she only really has the time and energy to patrol during the 13th Hour on the weekends. She's unarmed apart from her Persona summoning ability, but she's making sure to be extra cautious.]

As the cliche of accidentally running into each other had already been well covered in a previous log, Atsuro progresses to the cliche of leaping into the fray in the middle of a fight, just as Nano is about to take a hit from an otherwise less than threatening Pixie.

"Get in there, Gates!"

The bespectacled man at his computer types some keys, and the demon is driven away in a blaze of fire.

"Hey, Nano! ...Battling all on your own now? Good for you!"

LUDWIG BEILSCHMIDT (GERMANY) | OPEN ALL DAYS

[For lack of anything better to do, Ludwig will be patrolling the streets, examining the new areas and hunting down demons that seem to be out of control. Above all, his concern is people's safety.]

Friday!

[Ludwig will come across a familiar face in Cancer district, locked in battle with something... slightly unusual. Despite the lack of threat the creature posed, Atsuro has a concerned expression on his face.]

[Sasha simply MUST explore these new places! This 13th hour thing is absolutely fascinating! Look for her wandering around and possibly getting into trouble with random demons because she just can't stay out of trouble.]

If one person is getting into trouble with them, another is trying to stay out of their way altogether. The spirits have been whispering about some random changes going on during the 13th Hour, and he thinks he's starting to see what they're talking about. He doesn't do this too frequently, but...

Oh hey! There's a familiar face. And... something descending on said face from overhead, oh shit. Time to test something with Anubis...

ASEM ASUNO | OPEN ALL DAYS

[Asem is facing down multiple demons. He's alone. He looks confident, but he could use some backup. Help him?]

[There are some giant monsters running amok in an area of the city. We're talking almost ten stories tall, here. Let's get some music going, too (OoCly, anyway).

Then, from down the street, a red beam of energy lances toward them. It punches through two of the Einsts, but it doesn't kill either of them. Following the beam to its source will reveal a giant robot, rifle leveled at the monsters.]

Over here! You want to fight, pick on someone your own size!

January 8th; Scenario 1

[And as one of those demons charges to attack, Asem will get a lovely view as it smashes against what is apparently an invisible barrier.

Turns out he is not as alone as he'd thought. From somewhere up above, a certain girl drops down beside him, her skin covered in red marks that resemble large gashes.]

Monday
[His job at the university was less than strenuous; truth be told, he rarely handled more than two or three computers a day. It seemed as if the technology here was slightly more reliable than what he was used to dealing with back home; he considered upgrading to some genuine Hinoto-Ri tech himself.

Monday had been especially lax, and he had, like the others, been made aware of the fact that something unusual was going on. When the first new monsters and buildings begin to appear, Atsuro begins to chase down the tails of the descending objects from home, an excited gleam in his eye.]

That one's gonna land pretty close by...!

Tuesday-Thursday
[Of course, with all of the new things that had just appeared in the city, there was no time for silly things like work and sleep when he could be exploring new dungeons in the RPG that was his life. At night and especially during the 13th Hour, Atsuro aimlessly meanders around, stopping whenever he spots a building that hadn't been there before.

He's come prepared. He brings out a camera and begins to take snapshots for who knows what reason. Maybe the flash could be used as a minor Light attack. He'd certainly need it with all the monsters that were out and about, too.]

Friday
[He had meant to repeat the proceedings of the previous few nights, but the city had different ideas. As Atsuro walks past a skyscraper, he suddenly glances down at himself and wonders why he has been plunged into darkness. A quick glance up informs him why.]

Gaaaah! Holy crap.

[He dives forward as the Wallmaster smashes against the ground, just in the nick of time! The thing is quick, though, and scuttles quickly in his direction...]

Saturday

[Suddenly, a shout:]

GET BEHIND SOMETHING!

[A second later, a small object flies through the air and lands near the Wallmaster. It looks like...

A grenade.]

She hates training this Persona, but she hates to lose too. So here she is with a Persona with perhaps a slightly insane glint in his eyes... and yet somehow the sight that just passed both of them manages to be even more insane.

"Hmm. Normally when you have to hunt your food, it's a little more beastly," she snorts, before following along with Ballos in her wake.

[Well, he needed to get out and investigate this 13th hour sometime. The new locations are curious to him, too. However, you'll likely catch him on his way home from a brief excursion, since he doesn't quite trust his ability to quickly fight off demons and he has yet to awaken his Persona.]

{ He'll find his path blocked by someone who is cloaked. Said cloaked person has a dagger in her - his? - hand and they are holding themselves stiffly - almost as if they are waiting for an attack. }

Ruri - Open All Days

Ruri is in the park, standing at the bottom of the ramp of her ship, watching the monsters try to force themselves through the distortion field. She doesn't look concerned but she rarely has emotion on her face.

"Hrm, I wonder if the power grid will hold tonight too."

Meanwhile, within the hangar, the Gundam AGE-2 is positioned and shooting monsters that come close to getting through. It's pretty simple, until...

"Requesting permission to launch!"

Einsts begin showing up.

Aoi - Open anytime after the 9th!

Aoi can be found armed with a naginata in a variety of places, whether it's the rooftop of a skyscraper or on the ground. It doesn't give her any particular trouble to go from one to the other, thanks to her powers giving her Impossible Athletic Skills™ and telekinesis to boot.

She does, however, still have trouble with the whole fighting thing. Part of it is her lack of experience, something her friends had ensured by constantly keeping her out of the fray. The other part is... well, she simply isn't that strong physically, even with the power boost.

As a matter of fact, she might just need some help against those demons right now! Care to lend a hand?

On the 10th! Hope you don't mind me tagging in actionspam.

[Remember that one soldier that decided to help out a few days ago? Well, there she was again, Lazarus in tow. Her new power was handy, but at the point things are, she feels a little inflexible. That needs to change soon.

...And what luck, too, some of the new monsters were following her, too, in droves. Shepard backpedals away, firing a spread from her Revenant.]

Sam Erstwhile - Open All Days

[God, he hates this time, he really does. Not that Sam is actually afraid or anything, given the fact that he feels more in kin with the monsters roaming around than the human beings he interacts with during the regular days, but he simply hates the fact that he's forced to fight. And if there's one thing he is really bad at doing, it's that.]

[So, he's trying his best to face off against this robot-looking thing, hiding behind his monstrous Persona as it launches attacks against it. However, it doesn't seem to be doing much, and Sam cowers, holding his head in his hands.]

Come on, come on, just defeat it already...!!

[And when he isn't fighting, Sam is exploring the area, checking out the new buildings with an interested look, muttering to himself, occasionally:]

...I wish they hadn't brought that place, though. I really didn't need to see it again.

[That's an interesting sight right there. Elaine was only able to discern which one was not hostile (...hopefully) by the young man hiding behind it.]

Haseo [AU1] - Open all days

[So there's some almost-familiar monsters around the city. Needless to say, Haseo has her scythe out and is working on fighting a crowd of 'em.

So, usual Haseo shenanigans then.]

[When not fighting, Haseo is just wandering the city, weapons at the ready - just in case. She does take a moment to look at the snow, though. She's still not used to it...]

[Someone decides to jump in and help out, since some of those enemies look really tough!]

[Someone who shoots an arrow at one of them, freezing it in place, before a horse runs over and smashes at it with her hooves.]

[Link runs up after her, looking determined.]

Earl Ciel Phantomhive [OU] - Open...now?

[Armed with his Persona - though he hasn't used it (or, rather, them) as of yet - Ciel is investigating the changes in the city. He might look rather vulnerable, considering his size, but you better believe he has his pistol out. There is also a knife tucked into one of his boots.

As he rounds a corner and finally catches sight of one of the monsters, he quickly doubles back and examines his communicator. If he is doing this correctly, he should see his Persona shortly...

However, they still manage to surprise him - and for good reason.

As hel steps around the corner, they finally appear. Instead of the expected demonic butler, Ciel is faced with...

His parents.

His deceased parents.

Can anyone blame him if he freezes in utter shock?]

[And there just so happens to be an annoying teen hanging around to comment on the fact. He can't help it, really; Ciel's reaction is not unlike his own when he awoke his Persona.]

Not who you expected to see?

[He's more or less ignoring the demons for the moment, but he's got a revolver at the ready. If any of them makes a move, he'll begin shooting.]

Akihiko Sanada | Open All Days

[It's not unusual for Akihiko to be spending his nights patrolling, punching at whatever happens to cross his path -- so long as it's nefarious-looking. Though the 13th hour and those who inhabit it seem to have changed, his routine has not, and he stubbornly remains on the streets until he's too tired to patrol effectively.

1 - Monday

Much to her surprise, the Exile was accosted on her way to bothering demons at the Mictlan. Even more surprising was what trio of things had accosted her.

"Are you serious?" she asked, drawing her lightsaber hilt into her hand. "I thought we were done with this."

The leftmost of the three robots chimed in with a mechanical, yet enthusiastic response. "Observation: Disappointing organics is not a primary directive, but is nonetheless satisfying."

The central of them added in, "Nostalgic recitation: Let us proceed to facilitate communications, and bring about the termination of hostilities."

And then Meetra ignited her lightsaber to start deflecting an incoming barrage of blaster fire.

2 - any other day

In addition to certain annoying things from her past, there certainly were a lot more weird things around during the 13th Hour, and Meetra was out and about every night assessing the new threats and, if need be, slashing them apart with her or her Persona's lightsaber. In particular, she's taken it upon herself to secure the Cancer district. She's in the middle of a technical project, and doesn't want the demons or newcomers wrecking storefronts.

And right in the middle of battle, she might notice someone watching from the side with a surprised look plastered all over his face.

Wait, that lady who had trouble with the washing machine? She had a lightsaber? Eikichi wasn't that much of a Star Wars nerd but he knew the glowing swords when he saw one.

"...Really? You're a Jedi?"

Elsewhere in the city (closed to lady!Death)

[Nik hasn't been out much in the city during the 13th hour, but with the upcoming grand prix and everything else going on in town, he figured it was about time he stepped up and checked this all out. He's out, sticking to the darker corners of the city, a handgun concealed on his person. He's not sure what to expect, but knows enough to be on his toes for now.]

[No, seriously, how many people do you know would treat new monsters appearing like a visit to an amusement park? Rune is going all out, shooting fireballs, making tornadoes appear to fling them around all over the place... Her Persona looks like she's having fun too, with Undine drowning more than a few unsuspecting robots.]

[... He goes out monster-hunting, of course. Whether it's with his sword, bombs, arrows, Epona, or James, Link carves through monsters with a minimum of fuss.]

*Guybrush, for once, is out and about; perhaps he's hoping he'll run into another familiar establishment. Maybe Stan's running some sort of demon merchandise parlor or something.

Interestingly, he seems to be doing a really good job of avoiding the enemies! Almost like he has some sort of useful trick... like a radar or something...*

*...okay, it's not INFALLIBLE. That's what a combination of Skull Cracker and Cutlass-Gun can help clean up, at least.*

MINATO ARISATO | Open all days except the first one when the buildings appear.

[ With all the new monsters and buildings appearing, the Thirteenth Hour has become an even better time to level grind explore and train. With the impending tournament and the possible threat of the Anoli at that time, it only makes sense to Minato to train and grow as comfortable as possible with his three personas. He does wonder, however, if it might not be advisable to try and find a way into the Velvet Room to try to fuse a stronger one or two by then...

Still, there's no knowing when he'll next have a chance to visit, so there is nothing for it but to work on training.

When battles go well, a strange smile steals across his face - the thrill of the adrenaline, of being in the thick of the action like this, is strong. It's nice, in a way, to really get back into the swing of fighting monsters with his personas...

Of course, destruction isn't all they're good for, and when he or anyone he runs into is hurt, he will week to heal them with the warm glow of a Diarahan from Messiah - or even a Recarm, if someone has had the misfortune of falling unconscious... ]

Later in the week, Minato will find Rise very carefully stalking monsters and scanning them throughout the city.

"Ooh, this one's weak to Ice! Let's go, Jack Frost!"

The antenna-headed support Persona that was helping her out is traded for the little blue Mascot, who proceeds to knock down the unfortunate Monoeye with an Ice attack.

HITOSHURA | OPEN ALL DAYS and imagine Eye of the Tiger playing

Normally one can see Shura out during the 13th hour trading punches with whatever unfortunate creatures foolish enough to try to tear a chunk out of her. She might be the Hitoshura, but defeating the Hitoshura would be the accomplishment of a lifetime for a demon.

Nowadays, however, with the tournament upcoming, she could be seen dressed in long and warm clothes, standing almost still on the battlefield, sending Matador and Kodama at her enemies repeatedly. She refused to lose as humiliatingly as last time. She was gonna max out Matador if it took her all days and nights until the tournament. She was not new to grinding.

Tuesday, Hi.

"Working hard, or hardly working? ...you know, I think that's one of the only times I can use that phrase unjokingly."

A bit of casting, and Matador and Kodama are taking hits a little better than before. A familiar face strolls up from a hiding point. "Thought I'd see if anything else weird happens this week. You seem like you're having a good time. Unlike those guys, anyway."

Erika Karisawa Wednesday/Friday

[On Wednesday Erika can be found wandering around town, trying to get pictures of all the new buildings and hopefully some of the new critters. She's fiddling with the camera now, which is probably why she doesn't notice the darkness pooling behind her. Hey, it looks like she might be able to get pictures of some heartless! Provided they don't kill her first. Maybe you should say something?]


[On Friday she can be seen enthusiastically chasing a.... souflee? Yeah, that sure does look like a souflee speeding down the street in front of her.]

Wednesday

[Io is walking about in dangerous areas as any good demon tamer does sometimes when she sees Erika... about to be attacked.

With no time to summon right now, she'll just alert this other girl to the impending danger...]

Riku | 6th January - OPEN

[After leaving the Dark Margin, , Riku starts to travel the districts using Flow Motion, pinkish light enveloping him as he skates along rails, quickly and quietly scales buildings and pushes over the roof as he searches for other familiar landmarks.

He skids into a halt in the middle of Sagittarius, jumping of the pipe he had traveled along when he senses something very familiar, a scent that puts him even more on edge than the atmosphere of the 13th hour does by itself already. And indeed, a moment later he sees them melt out of the Darkness, a party of three Neoshadows and two Novashadows approaching him.

He hisses at their sight, tightening his grip around his Keyblade as he slides into stance, his Dream Eaters both at his side and ready to back him up.

Of all the things from home... he hadn't quite expected to run into Heartless here. Maybe he should have.

It doesn't matter either way; lips twitching into a tight smirk.]

Quality over quantity again, is it? Well, bring it on!

[And with that he launches himself right into the fight!]

[Kairi wasn't sure why, but something in her heart tugged her towards the Sagittarius district, out of the way of anywhere she had really intended to be that night, especially during the unsettling time that was the 13th hour. Soon, the reason made itself perfectly clear: heartless. It had been a long time since she had fought these monsters, and her chest tightened with worry and anger. There was no way she'd let these little figments of darkness hurt anyone in this town, the town that had saved her from her horrid life in the Facility-- she'd put her good training to use and protect everyone's hearts.
Her eye's narrow, fingers flexing as she willed her bright, flowery keyblade to her hand. Kairi barely has time to prepare a fighting stance before Riku charged into the fray, and her eyes fly open with a small 'oh' falling from between her lips. Heh, of course Riku would be right on top of things.]

Riku!

[She starts running towards the fight, determined to help out any way she can. It doesn't quite register that her friends didn't really know her new fighting capabilities yet...]

Neku | All days

[He's been lazy. He hasn't been training as much as he should have been, but then again he hasn't been treating this super-seriously.]

[He's got to make up for it now, which is why you'll find Neku running around, smashing through enemies with Narasimha or just setting them on fire with his Pins. He's gotten rusty with those, too, and now that he knows for sure that they work during the 13th hour he's getting some practice in.]

[Of course, if he sees someone in trouble, he'll probably help out if he can - at least with some healing.]

[Yosuke had never used a new Persona before. His current Soul Persona may have originally been Jiraiya and then turned into Susano-o, but it was still the same Persona, the single part of him, all along.

So getting a brand new Persona from the Velvet Room was an incredibly new experience to him, one he was all too excited about. And, as he himself was trying to get training for the tournament, it was entirely necessary that he try out using Apollo as soon as possible.

With his headphones over his ears and his focus on the thickening hordes of demons that were coming out during the Thirteenth Hour, though, Yosuke might not have exactly been aiming Apollo's Fire Punch very well...


So Apollo's attack might be whizzing by Neku and straight into a demon, nearly hitting the other teen in the process. Yosuke realizes his mistake quickly, though, and is pulling his headphones off of his head as he runs towards Neku with a worried look.]
